has anyone ever lost a dress size in the 14 days of doing pilates like the commercials claim? or anyone had good results just by sticking with it? i have a lot of fat on my abs so will it just tone my muscles underneath or will it burn my fat off as well?

Make sure you read the fine print on the infomercials. The women who dropped down multiple sizes watched what they ate and added cardio activity. I've talked to a few people who were part of groups for infomercials, and it's quite common for them to be on regimented diets and to supplement the exercise video or equipment sold with additional exercise. That said, someone who is diligent about nutrition, cardio, and the exercise in question could have similar results, but remember that consistency is key.

I found that my pants fit more loosely, but I find that I don't lose weight with Pilates alone. That said, I do see results. Joseph Pilates said that in 10 session you will feel a difference, in 20 you will see a difference, and in 30 you will have a whole new body. For the most part I found that true, although no one can escape their genetic destiny in terms of body type. That said, I moved in a different way and saw my body differently, so in that sense I did have a whole new body. My results from Pilates are subtle. My core (abs and lower back) are so much stronger. I have better posture, and I have less lower back pain and even tension. Pilates helps me train the muscles that pull in my tummy, acting like a natural "control-top" or girdle. I've seen some increases in flexibility, too. And Pilates has helped me gain confidence in my body.

In order to lose fat off of your belly, you need two things: proper diet and cardiovascular exercise. Pilates will help your abs become stronger and flatter, but it will not burn off a significant number of calories. You must get some cardio activity in, whether it's walking, jogging, swimming, biking, aerobics, kickboxing, chasing kids, etc. If you're not already active, aim for 30 min. 3-5x/week and work your way up to 60 and even 90 min. 3-5x/week. And you must eat healthy foods in proper amounts. (A little cheating is OK now and then, but in moderation!) Places like FitDay and SparkPeople are good for helping you get eating under control, if you need help with that. If you don't, definitely make sure you ramp up the cardio, too. And do your Pilates. :)

I don't know that I lost a dress size in 14 days, but I definitely could see and feel results after 14 days (I took an hour-long class twice a week and then did about 20 minutes a day on my own the other days of the week). Pilates is GREAT for your body regardless of its ability to help you lose weight and tone up, though, so if I were you, I'd focus on that aspect of it instead of focusing on how you look. It's good for you -- definitely give it a try!

pilates is more for toning not so much for loosing weight, thats what I heard.in just two weeks I started seeing the results in my abs.if you're already fit or average, pilates is great, but I would suggest something else if you want to loose more than just a few pounds

doing it twice a week isnt enough imo,I did it 4-5 times a week 20-30 minutes sessions, and if it helps do at least 20 minutes of warm up yoga before each pilates session, helps you feel more invigorated

The commercials are aired to make money for themselves. The product sold by them may or may not yield the results claimed by them. Normally they do not.

Eat nourishing food with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables being part of it. Chew each morsel at least 32 times. This will activate signal to the brain as soon as u have had enough. Besides this change in eating style, take regular light exercises and brisk walks every day. U will be able to gain/shed all extra weight gracefully and in a reasonable time span. No food or drink in between the food and not more than three meals a day, unless u r diabetic.

I haven't any thought that I lost a dress measurement in 14 days, in spite of the undeniable fact that I certainly might see and picture effect after 14 days (I took an hour-long splendor 2 situations each week and then did approximately 20 minutes an afternoon on my own the different days of the week). Pilates is large on your physique devoid of connection with its skill to assist you drop pounds and tone up, in spite of the undeniable fact that, so if I even have been you, i might acceptance on that component of it somewhat of concentrated on the way you look. that's properly for you -- certainly grant it a take a examine out!

I've done it twice a week for two months with a professional instructor and I'm not seeing any results. Personally, I prefer weight lifting. If you're looking for a video, try anything by "The Firm."
