sounds like radiculopathy, which is not funny, also known as a pinched nerve in you neck. a chiropracter may help, for this only, everything else they do is voodoo.

Go to a Specialist and if you have insurance you can Get an MRI done and it will determine if you have Arthriuts or not in the joints
How long have you had the pain?
Is it an Ache, or stabbing, shotting pains?
Is it constant or does it come and Go?
Is there anything that triggers it, Like weather, pressure changes, rain, snow, temperature changes, heat?
does the pain increase with movement, strain, or wieght on the area? Like if you pick something up
Do you have Swelling in either area?
Have you tried to apply Ice to your Fingers, this will help with swelling if you have any.
Have you applied heat, which could be a very bad thing depending on what the problem is.
Is the pain in the shoulder associated with the finger pain at the same time? If so, it could be an Issue with Nerves or muscles.
If they're not at the same time, and your fingers may hurt randomly, then they could be 2 separate problems.
My knees are horrible and it took a couple specialist to figure out what was wrong.Noone assumed arthritus at a young age, they thought it was torn cartilage. They told me to go to Physical therapy to have metal Rod pushed into my lef to loosen the joint , muscle, and break up any Scar tissue. The problem...... that would of been Very painful and it wouldn't of helped me at all since it wasn't torn cartilage. So get a second opinin if you don't trust the 1st Doctor.
They did a MRI, and figured out what was wrong with me, it's arthritus at a young age. Age has no boundaries for health issues these days.
If the pain is interfering with you daily life, then go see a specialist, and get some Refferances on them before you go waste your money on them, See if they're Good or not.
Good Luck

Joint pain or stiffness of the joint may be caused by overexertion, injuries, arthritis, muscle pain, bursitis and other diseases. Depending on the cause of the joint pain, joints on both sides of the body and small or large joints may be affected. Some types of joint pains can be completely cured but for other types of joint pain (like pain caused by osteoarthritis), treatment will only reduce the pain. More information on joint pain , home remedies and treatment is available at

Have you been working in a similar position for long hours? In front of the computer, perhaps? Few things you can do, visit a Chinese tui-na doctor who can tell you whether there are some blocked areas in the meridians, at the same time do some finger and back exercises.

Sounds like you need to see a specialist. See an ortho doc for the shoulder and maybe a rheumatologist for the finger pain.
