I was with a young lady. We met a 40 something engineer somewhere along a busy road. This chap drove a trailer and was laying a very long cable in the centre of the road. But what was unique about it was that tied to the long cable every 100 yards or so, he had fishing hooks of all sizes. We trailed him for a while and wondered what he was doing – laying the long cable with hooks. Eventually his cable laying ended a few kilometers to where his hotel was. We asked him what he was doing – so queer and so bizarre! He said he was going fishing and hoped to catch fishes that would be worth at least $1.5 million. Admittedly some parts of the cable were sunk into the ponds along the way but this was no way to catch fishes especially when he laid his line and hooks on roads!! I asked him how is it that no one stopped him from laying cables “Not to worry” was his answer. “The police know about it. They think I am crazy, well I am going to prove them wrong".

Ok, I'm going to take a stab at analyzing both you and your dream, although you give no information about yourself. If I am wrong and way off base, forgive me. If I'm somewhat correct, either give me the 10 points or at least let me know via the "Additional Comments" area.
First, I am going to estimate your age anywhere from late 30's to mid 40's. Right now, I sense that you are worried about something in particular and are very tense.
Next, the cable obviously represents your lifeline. When the cable sinks into the ponds, that indicates a low point in your life. The fact that the cable is in the center of the road tells me you are more conservative, rather than liberal, and you always try to "toe" the line. This frustrates you, but keeping a job and earning a decent salary are two necessary evils in life. You are secretly wishing you could "run away from it all" (the hotel in your dream is symbolic of this). The fishing hooks of all sizes represent different issues you have had to deal with during your life, i.e. relationships, employment (am further guessing you've been in and out of jobs during your whole career) -- the longer the fish hook, the bigger the issue. Also, laying the cable along the road shows that you are trying to get on the right path. The 1.5 millions dollars could mean either a big deal closing at work for you, or maybe that's the amount of money you have calculated you need for various reasons. I'm still trying to interpret the mention of police unless you are planning to swindle $1.5 million from your job! Then, there goes my whole assessment of you!

Well Casey, I wouldn't think too much about it. A dream doesn't mean anything. It's just a bunch of thoughts jumbled up in your head that make for one hell of a story. All it's gonna make you do is go nuts trying to come up with an explanation for it all. Well remember, don't hold your breath for long, if the undertow's getting too strong. Happy Valentine's Day! :)
