You can sign the contract when you're 17, but you have to have Mommie and Daddy's permission. Otherwise you'll have to wait till your 18.

It used to be 17. I don't see any reason why that has changed. Might want to find out by calling your recruiting office.
Anyways, go talk to your school counselor about your life. Listen dude, whatever you've heard about counselors, (negative anyway), toss them out. Counselors are on your side and they're actually pretty cool to talk to. About anything.
There are other options to learn a trade until you're old enough for the military; Job Corps comes to mind. They'll pay you. But you must really have it bad at home, or an outright hoodlum. If it's a home thing, and it's just because you don't like the rules, you will NOT like the military.
Just go talk with your counselor. You'll not regret it. Just talk.

I joined when I was 17. If you plan on going active duty then you may want to wait until after you finish high school. Absolutely make sure that this is something that you want to do. More than likely you will survive. Make sure you try to pick a non-combat MOS to get experience for a good civilian job when you finish in the military. Good Luck

You have to be 18.....however, there are military high schools/colleges. New Mexico Military Institute is one of them.....that is a good way to get started....from there you can go to a military academy for college and join the armed forces as an officer.

17 if your parents say yes 18 to do it on your own. You are way to young to go in. There is more to the military then money and a 6 pack.

You have to be of legal age to join the military, 18 years old. Since you have 4 more years to go, why not join the ROTC program in your school so you'll have an idea what to expect in the military. Good luck!

I don't think we've had 14 year olds in the military since the Civil War, sorry. Don't give up, at the rate things are going they will probably take whatever breathes.
