I colored my hair a couple of days ago and the results are darker than I wanted. How long should I wait if I want to try to lighten it up?

since I color my hair,my dark roots start to reappear after four weeks, however,if you wash you hair every night the color will eventually get lighter. Its no good to keep on trying one color after another if you re disappointed with the color, you can damage your hair. Jan

Use plain old dishsoap to strip your hair a bit of the color. Compare the ingredients to you current shampoo---you may be surprised. Cheap shampoos ARE dishsoap!

Follow that with a mixture of warmed-up olive oil and real mayo. Cover all your hair with it, but don't mess it up---keep it detangled and form it in a loose loop on top of your head. Cover with saran wrap or a plastic grocery bag to hold some heat in. Leave on for about 30 minutes. Do this a couple days in a row.

This will help strip your hair of the color (which will wash out during the first few days anyway) but it will also help protect and condition the hair before you color again. Keep it up by using jojoba or another light oil on your hair daily. Keep it detangled by oiling it and braiding it at night. You'll have less tangles when you wash it the next morning!

If you just colored your hair a couple of days ago then I would not think about lightening it just yet. As you wash your hair it is going to fade so it will lighten on its own. Just give it two weeks and by then you might like they way it looks.

I had the same problem and I bought more and colored my hair 2 days later it didn't hurt my hair but if your hair is sensitive I would wait at least a month

Wait at least 4 to 6 months before you color you hair again. I have dyed my hair plenty of times and doing it any sooner than that will dry out your hair.

lots of hair dyes are like that...make your hair darker in the initiating and after some washings no longer so large/darkish. you mustn't dye your hair lower back in case you purely dyed it 2 weeks in the past. i do no longer think of that's going to smash your hair(I dyed mine thrice in one month which contains bleach) in spite of the undeniable fact that it is not good to your hair. Mine ended up 3 diverse hues! And grow to be extra dry and frizzy! i might advise you pass to a salon and get the colour stripped first. Then next time you dye your hair attempt Garnier a hundred% shade. i visit confess i do unlike Garniers different products yet i like their hair dye!

You can do it immediately- my daughter went to a new salon and they really messed her hair up about a year ago. She had it highlighted 4 times in one day by that salon--- it still was crappy so she went to another salon 2 days later and they rehighlighted it and fixed it beautifully---ps- get a good coloring agent like L'oreal- they give you the colors on the back like- if your color is this-- it will turn out like this.... and they actually SHOW you what to expect... good luck......

If you are using hair color again or bleach (not semi-permanent hair color), allow an interval of about one week, to avoid damaging your hair and scalp.
