im single and whats exemptions.? is it unusual to get less then half back for sumthing small cus last year i only got 580 from 1500 total tax taken

It depends on what your filing status is (single? head of household? married?) and how many exemptions you have.

Well if you are single then your will probably get about 1,500 or so.
