Here's a thought, if you don't like the way someone thinks, smile, shake your head & walk away. That's not hard, right? I'm not a Christian but "questions" like this are just sad. You're just as bad the judgemental Christians who condemn anyone who doesn't think like they do. If you have to put others down to feel better about the choices you make, perhaps you should take a looooong look at yourself and wonder why something that has no effect on you threatens you so much. In layman's terms, grow up.

If you had actually been witty, I would've given you props. Next time, think of a real zinger. Might take you a few days but try.

I'm so glad to see that tolerance and open-mindedness is alive and well among some groups of atheists. Suppose I made a statement like that about you and what you believe to be true. . .you'd be screaming "Typical Christian bigotry!" at the top of your lungs.

I've spent a lot of my life studying theology, philosophy, and yes, science. Through them, I have learned to consider new ideas with every bit of logic and training that I can bring to bear on the subject. I've found no contradictions between using my reasoning and exercising my faith. I've also learned tolerance and respect for other people's viewpoints.

Can you say the same for yourself?

Dear desere, though My parents took me to church as a child, i began as I became older to grow into a more cynical view of the BIBle and christianity. I would rarely read the BIBle, I even got to the point, where I was never going to church. I one day decided to pick up the Bible and read, and as I was sittinf outside on my deck in the earlie morning, a slight wend blew, and I looked at my bible, only to be astonsihed at the fact God was speaking. HIs message was galatians 1:6-9. "”I am astonished you are so quickly removed from the Gospel you have heard to another, apparently there are some who have confused you and perverted the Gospel of Christ, but if any man preach unto you any other, then let them be eternally Condemned.” THis message allowed me to rethink my cynicism, and I later in my life became soundly saved by Gods grace. God confronted me with His Holy Law. I understod the hatred God had tward my sins of lying and stealing and blapshemy and Idoaltry, and I trembled beofre God, because I understood his righteouness. I knew, that Jesus, died a painful death for my sins, and that he promised to save and restore and make new all who would repent and belive upon him. and I did, I repented toward God, and placed my faith and trust in Jesus Christ, and it was as if scales had fallen from my eyes. my blinded eyes were opened, I was granted the gift of everlasting life, and best of all, I have been reconcilled to God personally, and called as an apostle. I cannot make you belive anything you wont, and I do not resent you for your comments, I forgive as my master has commanded.

check out Case for Christianity: C.S. Lewis at your local library. Or get it on amazon for cheap. Its a very short book on a logical argument for a creator starting with the belief of pure atheism.

I think you are paraphrasing an idea that is from the Episcopal Church. "Jesus came to take your sins, not your mind". We believe in 3 sources of truth. These are the bible, holy tradition, and reason. Some of the most intelligent people you will ever meet are in the Episcopal Church. You will see that our beliefs are very rational.
