My aging mother suffers from several "diagnosed" problems including arthritis, spondolosis, and 2 (repaired) compression fractures in her lower back in the last 6 years. Having exhausted all conventional treatment, we have seen a Pain Management specialist who recommends "Prolotherapy". I understand the concept behind it. I'm just not sure it's worth the pain and price she will have to endure since it isn't covered by insurance. If you have had this treatment, I'd love to hear whether it helped or not.

Have you exhausted all medical treatment for your mother? Prolotherapy is a relatively new concept. So much hype with it-some advocates even claim it can cure internal derangement of the knee. Before you go into it for your mother, consider why it isn't covered by insurance companies. I wouldn't rush into it, if I were you.
