I'm serious, why would we be put through all this suffering? Is God a sadisitic? I'm so tired..

If judgement day comes and God says that I did this and that and so I can't be in heaven I wouldn't even shed a tear...what else can I expect, I feel like I'm being beaten down no matter how far I get.

Wouldn't life be easier without the concept of a God? It would just be life...

first, i think you might like to visit your doctor. you sound a little depressed and at your witt's end.

i have heard from many people with near-death experiences, that when you die you have your judgement day. but it's not like 'you go to heaven, you go to hell'. I've heard it's more like you feel all the feelings and emotions of all the people you've hurt, and then you either judge yourself, or are sent to heaven. the last part is still disputed.

as for would it be easier without God? well that depends. I spent some time when i was very sick reading the bible, trying to figure out the same thing. I found that the whole thing is filled with things that tell you to be a good, kind, moral person, and you will have a happy life.

maybe you should seek the help of clergy, ask them. they may be able to help you understand your questions/problems.

But, hon, you're sounding a little desperate, I'd SERIOUSLY go to the doctor and seek a little medical guidance.

Good Luck, and e-mail me if you need to talk.

Step 1: Accept defeat. You won't accomplish all that you want and nothing will ever be easy. Mom and Dad won't protect you if they are even there at all. People around you will die and there's nothing you can do about it. One bad thing will only be followed by ten more. It will all come crashing down on you and you will never see a way out.

Step 2: Cry your eyes out. It's okay, really. This your "Come To God" moment, but in an entirely non-religious way. When you realize all that Step 1 encompasses the aftermath can be quite traumatic. So let it out the best way you know how. Lock yourself in the bathroom or pout it out on the couch. Which ever makes you more comfortable.

Step 3: Move on. Well, now you know that you can only depend on yourself. Mom, Dad, Grandma, BFF, Husband, GOD...they will all let you down and some more than others. So pick your sorry self up and tackle it one step at a time. Go as fast or as slow as you want, but just get going.

Step 4: Pat yourself on the back. You've made it through life. See...it wasn't so bad? Now go forth and live long in prosper.

Would you feel any less beaten down if you didn't believe in God?

Being completely serious here, I actually found the meaning of life in an Eddie Murphy movie, Coming to America.

Eddie plays a prince who pretends to be poor to find a wife who truly loves him and is not just interested in his fortune & fame.

I think God is like that - he doesn't make it easy by making a big show of all his riches and power, so the ones who truly love him will show it by continuing to believe & follow his commands.

Think of a billionaire and all the family who'd kiss up and be on their best behavior to his face, but behind his back, gossip about him and otherwise do things he wouldn't approve of. If that same billionaire somehow hid his riches and no one knew what kind of money he had, he'd be more likely to see people's true colors, and could leave the inheritance in his will accordingly.

I think this whole life is a test to see who leaves this world truly loving God & others despite all the suffering and tedium. It'd be too easy to be a phony brown noser if the reward were right in our face. But when you consistently do the right thing even though being selfish in this world is generally easier and more immediately rewarding, then you are doing well on the billionaire's test.

"Wouldn't life be easier without the concept of a God? It would just be life..."

see, god isnt a judge with a big beard and a white robe. Its everything. Time, movement, life, death, everything. God IS life. you need to remove the concept of the angry judgemental god.

iI have been there 100 times . Look, you need to realize that suffering and tribulation is meant to foster change in yourself,.Overcoming harsh things, which is f***ing hard, definatley makers you stronger.

Never dwell on past "sins" You dont have to. Take god out of the picture, take judgement day out of your head.

You have control of your life. You can choose not to suffer. You can get thru anything.. Suffering and hurt makes you that strong. Having total, complete control of yourself, is the best way to live life. Chances are youll feel god is in sync with you too. make the change for yourself. Judgement day is bs, god is broader then books hope this helps

I'm am so sorry that life is so hard for you...I don't know what you're going through, but I do know that it would be worse if their was no God...You say "wouldn't life be easier without the concept of God"...Are you only believing rather than praying and having faith, real prayer and faith, (not just going through the motions), that he will hear and answer your prayers? I know that there have been times in my life when I have prayed out of habit, and things have not gotten better...Maybe you need to pay closer attention, perhaps he is showing you the way, only you can't see it, because you faith has faltered? God does not cause suffering, sin causes suffering...If we lived in a perfect world, there would be no suffering...Unfortunately we do not, we have to rely on God, without him life would be unbearable, God did not say our life on earth would be easy, but he did promise to carry us when we could not bare anymore...He gives us no more than we can bare without intervening...You must be very strong and he knows this...Please keep believing, pray all the time and keep the faith...I will remember you in my prayers...God Bless!!!

Man, I've been trying to answer this question for YEARS! Depending on how you look at it, life might be easier without God. God isn't sadistic, people are. The situations we create or find ourselves in are created by ourselves or others. That's my take on it. I've actually found that God really doesn't help you with jack. Seriously. I could say look to Him or whatever but, you know what's up with that. You've tried it and you're tired. Been there. I rely on myself and that's it. After crying and praying and getting nothing, that's all you can do. I've been there for myself from day one and I'm always there. I can always rely on me.

By the way, you might want to talk to a thearpist or something. It helps. I've been there. Got the scars to prove it.

* I don't really have any words of comfort for you, bu let's face the facts, wnether God does or does not exist has no bearing on your suffering. i do not know what you are going through that is so bad, but I can honestly say I do know how you feel. I used to suffer from deep clinical depression and I had some very dark moments. I too had had enough many times but i hung n there. We must force ourselves to cahnge the things we can change and accept those thing we cannot change. When we realize we must deal with it sometimes that is what makes it easier. sorry I wish I had words of comfort, but i do not. *

u know i used to feel the same way. i reverted to islam and no i am not trying to revert you to islam just shedding my experiance. we all hear that there is free will. according to the religion life in itself is the test. if we come out of it believing in what god has sent to us then we are promised paradice. we are told to follow the rules set forth by god. one of those rules is do not bring yourself towards harm but yet seek refuge with god away from sin and harm. life would be easier with out other people. it is other people who cause others to suffer as well as our selves. not god. think about it this way. if we all followed the rules that the quran has revealed this world would be a lot easy. there are strict guidelines. bringing no harm towards others and distributing charity among the poor can make life a hec of a lot easier. but there are corrupt people in this world with the lable of what ever they perclaim themselves to be who take the religion and make it look like it is the religion that is wrong when really it is the people. prayor has been proven to be a health booster. it appeases the mind. u should concentrate on a personal relationiship with god(if u want) or work to find tranquility with in your own life. remove all the negativity in your life to the best of your ability and you will see how drastic your life can be. for some life is easier and for others life is hell. if you are american i would recomend some day you go to a third world country such as famine ridden eithiopia and see exactly what they go through and when you ask some weather they be jew christian or muslim they will tell u it is their faith gets them through the day.life is one big test you either pass it or fail. life is what you make it

Sounds like you're blaming God for all your troubles. If you chose not to believe in God, do you really think all your troubles will vanish? Let's face it, troubles are just a part of life. God created a perfect world and man screwed it all up. So live your life fixing your thoughts on all the good there is. There is some good in your life, yes?

My life isn't perfect. But it's the only life I have.

Nirvana is technically the cessation of individual existence. Buddhists have self belief, like Hindu's, that the international is an phantasm. desires bind us to the phantasm by way of inflicting us to go through. Killing your self does no longer end your existence it would in basic terms reason you to incarnate into yet another existence with the karmic debt of suicide. Buddhists have self belief that the guy would not extremely exist. The objective is to upward thrust above the assumption of being somebody and somewhat assimilate with the collective. Enlightenment/nirvana is approximately inner peace. The objective is barely to journey this peace. The journey is the only way it is generally rather responded.
