I read an article about how religious people are x% more likely to jaywalk than non-religious people, especially Orthodox Jews (and especially on Shabbat), it noted. Maybe there is a correlation.

As religious people we should trust in God and ask for God's protection, and then we should :
1)say in the name of Allah the only one God or bissmillah if we are wanting to cross the road
2)look both ways to the right and to the left if the road/street is 2 ways traffics
3)look only to the right or to the left if we want to cross the the one way traffics
In line with islamic teaching although we trust in God we should also make a prudent effort for our safety.God will not change our fates as long as we do not try hard to change.it.

God is, or should be ever present" in our lives. All people, regardless of their religious beliefs should look both ways before crossing the road. God has given us a brain to determine what and how we should protect ourselves. We put our trust in God for many things, crossing the road is not one of them.

I really don;t know about religious people but I know that as a child of GOD., I was given a brain and he expects me to use it. I trust in God to take care of the problems that I can't handle. Breathing waking up heart beating health . God expects us to trust his judgment for our life and to follow his lead in our life. He doesn't expect us to do things that are not good for us like stepping out in front of a car or entering a street without looking.

One part of me looks both ways...twice before crossing, the other part says "if something's gonna happen, it's gonna happen, but I'm gonna trust in God that nothing happens," and then I cross.

You must believe in something like God or you wouldn't be here; even if it's supposedly for the purpose of trashing 'religious people'.

God gave me eyes and a neck and a healthy appreciation for the bad driving habits of people on their cell phone, so yes, I trust in God's provisions for me.
