I HAVE 2 CATS, THE BOY IS 5 MONTHS AND THE GIRL IS 7 MONTHS. MY BOY CAT EATS A LOT AND THE GIRL IS HARDLY EATING AT ALL. I TRIED TO SEPERATE THEM WHEN THEY EAT BUT SHE CRIES FOR THE BOY (LIKE SHE WANTS HIM TO EAT HER FOOD). WHAT CAN I DO TO GET HER TO EAT? I THINK SHE IS UNDER WEIGHT. AND WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO CUT THEIR NAILS WITHOUT THEM CRYING AND MOVING AROUND?
THANKS

for the nail clipping what i do with my cat is i lay her on my lap then i put something to cover her eyes and she remains calm. for the feeding we mixed a little bit of warm water to make the crumbles soft but if she is just not eating i would take her the vet. or you could try seperating them but when u feed her hand feed her with canned meat.

I have three cats now but I've raised many over the years. Do you put out free-choice dry food for them to eat? That way, each can eat at their own time and amount. It also takes the burden off of you in fixing their meals. All of my cats have thrived on dry food. Just make sure that the dry food is nutritious and that they have plenty of fresh water. It would also be a good idea to have both of them vet-checked for worms, if they haven't been checked already. And, like people, some cats are just skinnier than others, but they're still healthy. As for the claws, wrap the cat up in a big bath towel (snugly, but not too tightly) to help keep it quiet. It's really best to have someone to help you with this. I've never been successful at this all by myself. Also, it goes without saying that you should have your boy neutered and your girl spayed. This will do a lot to calm both of them down. Good luck!

If she is very submissive, she could be waiting for him to give her permission to eat. Separate them and only allow them food at set times. If in a week she's not eating check with your vet. OR she just might not like the food.

If you want your cat to be docile during nail cutting, then you have to condition them to have their paws handled, be submissive to you and most importantly, correct the bad behaviour. Other then that, YOU might need to try to calm yourself, if you're stressed they will be too, or learn a better technique to restrain them for the process.

you might have to feed them in different rooms so she'll eat, some cats are so timid that if a cat eats all the food they act like they don;t care,,,,try that and see if it doesn't help..if not ask you vet and they can help you,,,,LOL
