Go for it. Just try and stay safe. You know your neighborhood better than I do. You would know the safer routes. A good walk can do wonders for a mood.

Yes, it really does help. The best part is that it's dark. No-one sees you, and you don't have to interact with anyone. Everythings so quiet that you can be one with the calming, sounds around you. It helps you be a peace with your self. The cold can be a problem, it cuts your time shorter than you want. I take a backpack with a thermos or two. Most of the time it's the best part of my day. I start thinking about it before it gets dark, and am excited as the time draws near.

Yes! It will trigger endorphins that will ease your depression. If it gets too cold a treadmill, exercise tape, or gym membership will do the same. An yes the vitamins from the sun would help, but you can order some 5-HTP if that is not possible at: http://www.jigsawhealth.com/products/5_htp_serotonin.htmlint I take it in the winter to prevent my winter over-eating habits and it helps.

It would definitely help. Dress in layers. If you enjoy walking, you should think about getting a dog. Their company is invaluable, and you have to take them for a walk even if all you want to do is hide under the covers all day. They are also true to the cliche of "mans best friend" and have great health benefits to boot. Not just for your physical health, but their social companionship can be more valuable than that of another human. (I just heard about this research on the radio)

Exercise is good for the brain. Dress warm and go for it. It could be the cold weather that is causing your depression.

It could help, but I understand that exposure to sun light is helpful for depression. If you're depressed for more than a few weeks, find a counselor to help you work through it.
