That shows that our growth is lopsided. Accumulation of wealth in a few hands creates its own problem. It creates inflation; inflation which affects the poor who are not able to cope with the spiralling rise in prices of essential commodities. A spurt in growth rate in the economy is also not conducive to the well being of the common man. In a city of like Bangalore, where there is a lot of money out in the hands of the professionals, we have the problem of inflation, skyrockting of the prices of essential items; escalating rental value; land and building cost.

What is the solution?

There cannot be any let up in growth in production.

The following measures should be kept in mind:-

1) The public distribution system should be strenthened.
2) Subsidies of essential items to common man should continue.
3) Wherever hi-tech money spinning projects are established, local talents from the local communities should be given priority. Not only in employemnt, they should be treated as partners in the projects being set up.
4) Agriculture is the traditional employment generating sector. It is in doldrums now. The result is there for everybody to see. More and more of rural poverty, cultivable land left fallow and rural unemployment; farmers' suicide; migration of agricultural labourers to urban areas etc. A concerted programme to revive agriculture should be in place. The next five-year plan should be totally devoted to agriculture. Announcement of some sops will not be sufficient.

No, economic inequality does not cause crimes. Just as many rich people commit crimes as poor people(just watch the news). Yes, low income people are discriminated by the police(and everyone else). Once a person has it in their mind to commit a criminal act, there is not much that can be done. Simply put, a good person would never commit a crime, no matter what.(A good person would die of starvation before they would steal food). Harsh punishments would work. Though nothing like we have today. For example:If a youth commits a crime they are killed, on sight, and the three people they most care for in the world are also killed, within an hour of the crime. So if Leroy robs a store, he knows the first cop to get within range will shoot him dead, and less then an hour later his mother and both his sisters will also be dead. Suddenly Leroy just stays home and plays Grant Theft Auto.

First and foremost education should be provided to the entire young generation of the poor community.
A census on poverty hit places and people should be taken and find out what are the root causes of the poverty and action can be taken to eradicate poverty , cos inspite of the increase in production still there are certain group of people who lives a very horid and poor life.
Due to the economic inequality the other most affected are the lower middle class people who always bare the brunt, as they always struggle to lead a normal life, inspite of the economic rises.government should provide equal treatment to the entire lower middle class families thoroughout the nation as there are differences in every state within india.if the government brings in equal growth oppurtunities and work as a single team, our nation would become super power in a days time.

Poverty is not eradicated because it is not associated with production, but only with distribution. Improper collectivity in the hands of few leads to deprived benefits of many - i.e. poverty.
HOW TO SOLVE?
1. Improvement of every family to be restricted in number; no kiths and kins to enjoy benefit of really merited.
2. Free education for rural areas to be compulsory and not to be extended in cities.
3. When child not sent for free education, District/Village incharge to sort out the problem - mainly the financial hardship of the family by providing alternate employment for elders to have sufficient food for the family.
4. MERIT to be the sole criteria for all judgements. Capitation fees/donations/lumpsum deposits, etc. to be avoided in higher education.
5. Basic idea of LIVE AND LET LIVE to be inculcated in every individual to let others also enjoy the benefit of education, knowledge, etc.
6. CASTE BIFURCATIONS/PRIVILEGES to be completely abolished. Only then everyone will compete equally, acquire required knowledge, thus for a fruitful India.
7. Proper education of cleaner environment will help in minimising the poverty outlook.
So LETS' JOIN TO FIGHT THIS MENACING EVIL.

It is impossible to remove economic inequality quickly. All you can do is provide a level playing field so that there is equal opportunity. One of the best ways of doing this is to provide free education to all.

We promote Poverty and ensure economic divide
All "Garbi Hatao" are plans for promotion of Poverty
Anything given free is to promote laziness; and promotes demand for more things to be given free;
One who reaps most benefits by poverty would not like to grow out of it!
Street Begging , for example is a profession in many cases and not a sign of Poverty; The behaviour of the beggar and his attire are all part of his trade.Don't think professional beggars are poor!

the best way to remove economic inequality is to go back to the principles of gandhiji i.e. trusteeship where the rich don the role of trustee of property they inherit keep what they need and share with others. socialism is not a way as it would lead to losing out the talent pool who make money
