Yes, you definitely can keep your citizenship. I did just that and, in fact, I became a naturalized Canadian and so now I have dual citizenship as I was born in the USA. One of my children who was born in Canada also has dual citizenship.
I would contact "legalcoverage" as it sounds like he has some very good information. Hopefully, he's not an immigration lawyer just fishing for business and your money on here. You can do this without the expense of a lawyer.

From what I understand, short of intentionally renouncing your US citizenship there are very few ways to lose it. You definitely need to have a visa in order to be permitted to work in Canada, and it can take some time to obtain one. Fortunately 90% of the population in Canada is distributed along the Canada/US border. In all likelihood you'll be well within driving distance to the border. There is nothing stopping you from living in Canada and commuting to a job in the United States (make sure you have all your i's dotted and t's crossed to legally live in Canada ... you can stay in Canada for up to 6 months without a visa, but you don't want Canada Customs to refuse to admit you when you're on your way home from work). You're going to have lots of legal questions throughout the process. Send me a message and I'll get you some information about something that could be very helpful to you.
