No, no place can have you do that no matter what profession you are in thats discrimanation and against the law.

I know for a Dental Assistant, if they should get stuck with a used needle . It is required that they get tested right a way , then in 6 months . I would think the same would be for a Dental Hygienist, although they usually have very little contact with needles.

no i dont think so...thats just like any other job...do they require people to take HIV tests in other types of jobs??

If they don't, they certainly should. Most health care people, nurses and doctors do.

In Australia they are required to be tested once a year, same as doctors and some other health professions.
