He's not someone that I would exactly INVITE to my home, however if he did come to my house I would be hospitable as any southern hostess would.

I would Grill steaks and chicken, marinated in Jim Beam Grilling Sauce. It's not much work and enough for leftovers...sometimes people like to take a plate home. If Salmon is on sale, I would marinate it in Orange marmalade and brown sugar then grill it.

I would serve a spring mix salad tossed with vidalia onions, tomatoes, almonds and cranberries, with a rasberry balsamic vinagrette.

Sides:
-Roast diced potatoes, tossed in olive oil and fresh rosemary.
-Pan sautee' fresh green beans in bacon, bacon grease, and garlic.

appetizer for grilling: bacon and cheddar stuffed mushroom caps, sausage in a blanket, and melba toast topped with dill infused cream cheese, capers, and salmon.

Dessert: A store-bought cheesecake with my homemade rasberry sauce infused with cayenne pepper.

I would have plenty of Michelob Ultra, and a 2 bottles of Pinot Noir on hand. Maybe some Baileys and Cream with Coffee for dessert. Also, always keep regular and diet sodas on hand for non-drinkers (um....secret service?)

(this is pretty much my normal entertainment fare for people I would clean my house for. Even though I am not a fan, I would still clean my house and feed him properly. You catch more flies with honey than vinegar.)

Overconsumption is pursuit into the unknown. You are what you eat.

So, with that said, inviting George W. Bush to dinner (in false hopes he would actually attend) would be a diservice to your food...and your family.

He eats his own words, does he even eat human food? Maybe dogfood. If I was a chef in the white house (I'd have to have fuse amnesia) I would put a nice dose of justice in his dog food.

FIGHT THE OCCUPATION!! Texas hospitality don't mean sh-- on judgement day. Bush can take a texas cream pie, to the face.

Stuffed Mushrooms as a cocktail ( be sure to pick a poisonous verity ) Poison Ivy salad w/black bean dressing, Roast Rat, rotten potato skins, mixed greens. Top off with a rope to hang himself for dessert. I wouldn't invite no one else.

Simple cockteils...scotch, maybe a hard lemonade, or margarita.
Finger food before dinner...bacon wrapped grilled scallopes,
Fresh veggies cut with micro-cookie cutters,
6 Olive varieties, various mini-breads,
4 different cheeses, a Salsa and ranch dip,
and shrimp cocktiel, of course.

I would make grain-fed T-bones on the grill, with a lemon-dill sauce.
Grilled corn on the cob.
Spanish VEGGIE-rice, its just spanish rice with diced tomatoes, onions, fresh garlic, fresh jalepenos, and dices artichoke hearts.
Fresh salad right before the meat comes off the grill: baby arugala, sliced pears dipped in citrus juice, cubed cream cheese, with a blackberry vinegrette sauce.

Dessert: Cinnamon and Ginger Flan w/ lime syrup drizzle (very light).

I would want my friend, and intellectual mentor John to accompany me through the evening.

Wow, what eye-opening responses I read down below. Politics and Religion is too hot for me to touch, and I stay away from it.

To be serious: A guest in my house deserves my best attention. After all I want to remain on my social level and not lower myself thru bad behavior or manners. I would serve a good German meal, followed by German Kuchen, and I am convident he would be pleased.

Fish, cole slaw, french fries, tarter sauce, corn on the cobb. Ice tea and coffee to drink. Home made Fresh Apple Cake with Ice cream on the side.
We would first say grace before the meal begins, offering him to or I would.

Since Mexican Food is his favorite, I'd serve my sour cream and chicken enchiladas. I'd also have pinto beans with stews tomatoes, Mexican creamed corn, Spanish rice, and a Guacamole salad. For dessert, Flan!
