i have a ford taurus 96' and i have an adapter and cd player to put in my car but it wont work. the tape keeps changing sides and only plays like a minute of the song an then will switch over an over and over. is there something i can do or another way to listen to music besides the radio.

another tape adapter could possibly fix the problem. sometimes a certain tape player just doesnt like a certain tape adapter. if that doesnt work, you might try getting an FM modulator. it plugs into the cd player and sends a signal that you tune into on the radio. but it might be easier to just get an aftermarket stereo installed.

You can get a new CD player for about $100 and these days you can even find one that has a tape player to. Try Best Buy or Circuit City. You can also try http://www.pricegrabber.com/

Because the tape player doesn't work!!See if there is part of a tape stuck in there.Clean the parts with a q tip and rubbing alcohol and give er a try.
