OK...we understand that some people aren't Christian...we get it. But why do you feel so threatened by the question...If you don't like the question pick a different category to answer questions from. Do you even know you're in the Religion category? You don't see Christians trash talking every question involving muslims- now that's very telling isn't it? God Bless to All!

I imagine they will probably be trash talking you for asking that question. I think they are scared and rebellious. They require the mental exercise of badmouthing something they are afraid of. They don't know enough about christianity truly to know they are loved and accepted or they are rebellious toward God and need to badmouth anyone else that loves Him in order to play that rebellion out. Don't sweat it my brother. You are loved and accepted and there are christians here that love the brethren as well. Just keep fighting the good fight knowing that there are a few among their numbers that you can reach for Christ. They are worth it because you and I were worth it. Lord bless you richly.

Sometimes those that shout the loudest are those that God is trying to reach the most. They try to hold God at arms length, thinking that if God is real, He is going to want to mess in in their lives. And they are right, of course. God loves each one just as we are- but He loves us too much to leave us that way. I think that many of the hostile responses are by those that are trying very hard to ignore God so that they can continue in their own immoral lifestyles.

I'm not sure though, that I would say that you don't see Christians trash talking. I have run across some pretty obnoxious people that called themselves "Christians".

I don't think it is that necessarily true. I write a lot of stuff on the mythology folklore section and I get some real jerks that are christian saying snarky remarks to me. What it really comes down to it is this...Humans are jerks, and it is our scientifically bestowed, or God given freewill that allows us to waste our time asking and answering nothing questions in a nonreal environment...And actually the majority of questions about muslims you get some self righteous jerk saying something rude...They may not be Christian, but the are an a**hole masquerading in your book.

Most people are in the society and culture category, which has both religion and Mythology, and to some, I am sorry to say view your belief as a myth, just as you view theirs the same. Ease up, these are the same people that cut you off on the road, just as those good Christians that cut you off too.

Welcome to America, all of us God fearing a**holes that think we really have something valid to say.

Including me.

Good night and God(s) bless.

Okay, well...yeah, we all trash-talk. It's human nature! Put the other guy down to make yourself feel good. Although, I just trash-talked evolution for like, ten minutes because it makes me so ANGRY! Not because I'm insecure in what I believe. There are people who just can't stand it when they see something that ticks them off and they have to respond vehemently, sometimes condescendingly, or rudely... you get the idea.

I think that in this particular case, non-believers trash-talk Christianity because they may think (not DO; may) "What if they're right?" It's a scary thought, you know? "What if there is something after this life, and what if it's gonna be bad for me?" No one wants to think about that! And I understand what you're saying about the category they choose to answer questions in, but isn't it interesting that at least one person already responded that he got to this question off the main question board? It shows what types of questions people are interested in answering, and what really grabs their attention and makes them think.

I know this won't make a wit of difference, but I'm gonna say it anyway:
It's really offensive when people say things like "All Christians are condescending jerks who think they know everything," and on and on and on! Does it occur to you that some of us are just kids? We're on here for fun, and we see something that makes us go, "Hey, that ain't right!" So we answer. Yeah, some people are pompous windbags, and unfortunately, they're usually the loudest, and they give the rest of us a bad name. I just wish that everyone would stop stereotyping. It's not going to happen anytime soon, but I sure as heck wish it would! Not all Christians are jerks, not all Italians like pasta, not all Swedes are blue-eyed with blond hair-
catch my drift?

God bless y'all!

Sorry, but are you new here? The questions from Christians here come in five general varieties:

1. Veiled, snarky proselytizing ("Don't evolutionists know that they will burn in the fires of Hell?")

2. Questions asked as if all the answerers are Christian ("What was your last prayer to Jesus?")

3. Attacks on other faiths and atheism, and gross generalizations ("Why do Pagans worship Satan?")

4. Pretended knowledge - calling something the truth when you can't provide non-Biblical proof ("Why won't you accept the reality of Jesus Christ?")

5. Attempts to suggest that Christians are being persecuted or discriminated against ("Why is no longer okay to say 'Merry Christmas?'")

Only occasionally do we see neutrally worded, honest questions from Christians about Christianity.

I'm not saying Christians are the only ones who do this, of course. But they're hardly blameless.

There are some really immature people on here. They get a kick out of coming on and being rude to many people's questions, not just the ones about Christianity. The more controversial the topic, the more rude answers there will be. Unfortunately, we live in a "Ann Coulter" Everybody's wrong but me kind of world! God bless you as well :)

I have to be honest..I am not religious at all and I am giulty of talking trash about some religious questions. Some were just in fun, others bothered me. I cant speek for anyone else but I say the things I do because of the way most religious people have approached me about it. Damning me to hell if I dont get baptized or trying to make me believe that the way i live is wrong. I don't understand why god fearing people kill eachother more than any gang in the world. It doesnt make sense. Whe people try to preach to me, its okay until they begin to judge. After that, I sometimes take out my anger on all religious people. I love God but Im not perfect. Its hard to have respect for people who try to force religion and judgement down your throat.

Then again, some people are just plain and simple idiots...

Actually, being right in the middle here, I see all questions getting bashed by people who believe differently. I have yet to see a question about the Muslim religion that someone doesn't have something nasty to say about them; they're terrorists, a religion that preaches hate, that Allah was a pedophile. I have yet to see a question from an atheist where someone doesn't have a quick comment about how they are going to hell because they don't believe. And I have yet to see a question from a Christian that isn't bashed in some way.

So for you to say that Christians don't bash others questions is wrong, to say the least.

Well... some can say they are Christian, but only because they are raised that way. They might not care, though. But also, it is very tiring when people are always making fun of Christians when other religions have their different beliefs. We believe in God, well we dont bow down to Him like Muslims bow down to idols. (Happy? I capitalized it.) We don't drink out of the same cup, thinking its Gods blood like the Catholics. It's pretty much the Christians people make fun of. Why? We just read the Bible.. nothing wierd about that. Thousands of people read what they're interested in. Some just HAPPEN to be interested in the Bible. No one trash- talks the Satanists. I might've gotten off the subject, but oh well. You needed to hear that, too. (Mostly talking to the commenters.)

The opposite of hot is cold. The opposite of light is dark. And, if someone is not serving God with their life, whether they realize it or not doesn't matter, they are serving the devil. There is no such thing as a "good person". We all are under sin. We are under it's control, we are under it's dominion, we are under it's condemnation. Some of us choose to deal with it the right way, by being a born again Christian. Understanding that the Bible is literally true, and seeing who God is verses who we are, we accept him as our saviour. King James only mind you. So who care what they think. Let them show themselves to be the lost fools that they really are. Everytime I see it, I thank God for saving me. We should, however, love them and witness to them. Some people prefer their sin to everlasting life. They will ridicule us, and act like we are the ones who are wrong. So what. Look at how Jesus was treated, and he was God. People don't like truth because it is convicting. They would rather lean on their own understanding of things. They think they don't need God. But one day, those same people are going to be judged by the same God and the same Bible that they have been denying. "Except a man be BORN AGAIN, he can not see the kingdom of God." "I am the truth, the way, and the light. No man cometh to the Father except by me," said Jesus. King James only, and Independent Fundamental Baptist. No one's religion gets them into heaven. Ask the Pharrises.

Perhaps this may shed some light on it..generally speaking people of faiths other than Christian, are pretty much led down one path. It is the path that their religeous founders laid out. Most of those faiths are harsh and conservative. Once you begin to instill a religeous principle in children it is used to command and control them the rest of their lives. They are taught that there is no other way to believe and if someone believes something different from them then the other people are wrong. Islam is hammered into those trusting children and once their mind accepts what they were taught then they never ask questions about whether what they believe is right or wrong..they just think Islam is the only true correct faith. Most Christians, on the other hand, are taught to think for themselves and that they should decide for themselves. I am a Christian and have looked at what others have to offer. I choose to adhere to my own faith and let everyone else believe as they will. It matters not to me what they believe so long as they are not a threat to me. If they feel that they must be hateful to everyone else then so be it. So long as they don't try to control my life with their beliefs then the can go their merry way, but if any of them attempt to cause me harm, then they won't like what I do.. It is their life, let them live it because in the end we will all find out who is correct and who is the fool. I like my chances..perhaps they don't like theirs...I wonder why they don't ask themselves this question..If being a martyr is such a blessing, why doesn't Osama give himself up so he can die and be with the virgins. He wants to live and convince others to die for his cause..and many of them are just stupid enough to die for him..how smart is that..He lives, they die, and those who believe in that stuff are going nowhere... You see, they won't ask the question because they were taught not to.
