I like a guy and he said he would date me if he got to know me how do I get to know him with out seeing him everyday?!? I have known him for like 3 years know we are good friends and I have loved him for a long time I just want things to progress!!!

Since you are not yet in the "totally in love " stage, why not find some local guy to date? Long distance relationships are so hard, even for more experienced romantics.

Hmmm....its sound like you met him on internet....What i think is you have to go step by step and right now the first step is to keep chating ,you can learn a lot about him on chat(some time you can get to know someone in 2 minutes,and sometime the whole life is not enough.), but people can pretend what they are not,so becareful.ask for his views on diffrent issues,call him(or ask him.to call you),talk to him(be ready to spend a lot on phone),compare your views with his thoughts,give yourself 6 months,if things goes well,good.now the time is to go there to meet him,but the BEST is to invite him to visit you(Please dont go alone to meet him, share with your mom or sis EVERYTHING..BECAREFUL, world is not safe any more.God forbid anything can happen.NEVER EVER TRUST him).TC....GOOD LUCK...ALL THE BEST

Okay, so here's what I don't understand? How do you "date" somebody on the computer?
Isn't dating actually, GOING on a date? To a movie, dinner, a museum, the zoo.
Unless you are going to move to where he is, that's not dating.
