Without a qualifying child, you must satisfy the following:

Be at least 25 years old but under 65.
Cannot be the dependent of another person.
Must live in the US for more than half of the year.
Cannot be the qualifying child of another.

AND

Your adjusted gross income must be below $12,120 (single) or $14,120 (married filing joint).

Pretty low income.

Must be a US Citizen or resident with a valid Social Security Number. Cannot earn more than $2,800 in investments (interest, dividends, stock or mutual fund gains).

If you are in this category, then most likely you can get your taxes done for free at either IRS.GOV (use one of the online filing providers) or by a VITA volunteer (go to IRS.GOV and search for VITA).
