i would have to say that ali would win - although if there's one heavyweight, one fighter, in all boxing history who could've beaten him, johnson(his idol) would be the one. ali could dance 15 rounds! he did this often in his prime - yes, he was that great! however, johnson was a defensive master(check out "unforgivable blackness") who would toy w/his opponents like a cat, pace himself, then wear them down over say 20+ rounds. he would give ali fits w/his defensive prowess and tricks and ali would not always be able to land clean shots, but ali would ultimately be too fast for johnson and the ol' bee would sting ol' jack repeatedly. can you imagine the banter going on inside the ring as both would be constantly talking to each other trying to get in each other's heads and off each other's games? johnson would not be able to catch ali, as ali would dance in and dance out(think ali's underrated power would also give him an edge)...at times, it would be a defensive chess match, but ali would pile up the points. remember, even jack johnson avoided some of the great black fighters of his day. i forget if it was sam langford whom jack defeated, then refused to fight again after he won the title. this one may end up not being the most action packed fight, but the electricity in the air would be awesome - ali by split, and possibly unanimous, decision! great choice in questions!~

Jack Johnson was a much larger man that a lot of people realize and was a master boxer with a powerful punch. He was an expert at parrying punches and knocking them down and countering with hard counterpunches. Muhammad Ali was the most gifted heavyweight with his nimble and graceful footwork and quick reflexes, He also had a very fast jab and great at mind playing before a fight which undoubtedly helped him win a lot of fights. This would not be an easy fight for either man as Johnson would follow Ali and pick off some jabs and countering Ali effectively. Ali would however land a lot of good jabs and stay away from Johnson's power most of the fight and win a relatively close decision.

Boxing was different during Johnson's day. To make things even, you'd have to allow Johnson the advances made by Ali's era, both in health and training. That means JJ would be a little bigger and faster. Take a look at JJ's musculature and physical grace and amplify that. He'd give Ali fits as he would fit the style that most troubled Ali, like Jones, Norton and Young. Not easy to compare, but I get the feeling that JJ could find a way to get a decision.

This would be a tough fight but i have to say Ali on points. Ali in his prime was almost untouchable. Speed, footwork, jab, defense, he had it all. Johnson was no slouch either. He was fast and had good defense and a good jab. His style would give Ali trouble, but in the long run Muhammad would be to fast and slick for a pressing Johnson to overcome.

Ali would pepper Johnson's face with countless jabs. His eyes would look like slits as it swells and gets cuts that bloodies his whole face. The referee would have to stop the fight to prevent further damage that would make Johnson unrecognizable.

Good matchup, but Ali wins on a decision. The whole Stanley Ketchel affair still irks me concerning Johnson, as great as he was.

Would be a very even fight, Ali by split decision. Johnson was as tough as any heavyweight that he would fight.

enable me first say that prime Mike Tyson became a devastating puncher with reflexes of a smaller guy. yet Larry Holmes became a good heavyweight. He would not are turning out to be run by ability of through Mike Tyson. save in ideas, a precise Tyson went the gap with James "speedy" Tillis. regrettably, Mike Tyson's achille's heel became his psyche. His operating shoes knew this in the previous he even went professional. If he did not damage someone immediately, he ought to commence doubting himself - if even fairly. He wasn't a the front runner like Judah, yet his will may be damaged. and not using a good coach in his nook to assist secure his self assurance, lengthy bouts ought to tutor to be disastrous. He became a snug guy who had concern managing the tremendous stress he became less than. And once you component in Larry Holmes tremendous jab, you'll have a recipe for a spoiler. Holmes ought to climate Tyson's early barrages, or maybe if popping out somewhat scathed, ought to slowly make grounds jointly with his ability set. it ought to were a Buster Douglas second for Mike. save in ideas, Rocky Marciano couldn't even carry Larry Holmes' jock strap. LOL. playstation : in case you watch the early documentary on Mike, you should work out his fragility. He broke down in tears, collapsing interior the palms of his then coach, Teddy Atlas, only from the anticipation of an novice championship strive against. in case you examine Atlas's e book, you'll examine a narrative of yet another novice bout, the position Mike became waiting to stop after he wasn't waiting to dispatch of a sturdy opponent interior the first couple rounds.
