This is way too young for a dog to be having pups. She's still a pup herself. If the pregnancy is very recent, you do have the option to spay, which will abort the pups. But since you are not willing to do that, be prepared for what you will possibly end up with. It's possible, due to her young age, that she may not look after the pups as she should, which means you will have to do it. That's feeding every 2 hours, monitoring 24/7 and cleaning up poo constantly (things mom normally takes care of).
If you are insisting on allowing this pregnancy, which I would say isn't a good idea, then you need to get her into the vet ASAP and discuss everything you will need to do and be aware of.

The biggest concern here should be the health of your puppy during pregnancy and whelping! She is still a puppy and her body may not be "ready" for all that this entails. Be sure to keep in close contact with a vet throughout the pregnancy so they can monitor how she's doing and determine if she'll be able to whelp on her own. She'll mother them fine most likely because the instinct will be there but truthfully, you need to really watch her during this time!!

Motherhood is a natural thing. You may have to take extra care of her during the whelping and raising of the pups. Hopefully nature will kick in and she'll know what to do. As far as a contract for spay/neuter and having people return an unwanted dog to you... you are welcome to copy off of my contract. It's on my website at http://ketka.homestead.com/ Be tough on perspective owners. If they don't agree to spay/neuter their new pup move on to someone else. Hey.... if you need help I can be contacted through my website. I'll be glad to help with advice if I can.

i had a dog that was only about a year and she had pups
she eneded up being a great mother, it was her first lite r but the instincts kick in as soon as she gets pregnant
i think your dog is a bit young
i odnt remember much about breeding them
but its important to not breed her if its going to be her first cycle or anything
but yeah
if you think shes ready physically
i would say she will be good
plus my dog was a bit slow(forgot what she had)
and she did perfect
all the pups grew up great
good luck

I think that she will be able to mother her pupsjust fine. The have instincts. They know what they are doing. I think a dog is fully matured at 6 months so it must be likely that she can mother her pups just fine. :)

she is real young. just make sure that she has good food and the right type of vitamans. then do not breed till she is 2 years old. give her body a chance to recover.

I hope your vet has pointed out that you are risking your dog's life by continuing the pregnancy.
