Has anyone every had their cartilage pierced at Merle Norman? I really want to get mine done, and my mom is going to let me (since I am 17), but I am not sure where to do it, I really don't know much about cartilage piercings. What type of piercing does the stud and the loop or whatever. Will Merle Norman do that kind? When you get your cartiledge peirced do you have to put an earing in it right away like I had to when I got my lobes done? And if you do, does Merle Norman have them or do I have to bring my own. One last question, how much would it cost at Merle Norman?

Thanks, in advance all HELPFUL answers are greatly apreciated. The butts that think its funny to just put something so they can get "points" need to just keep looking.

My advice is to go to a tattoo/peircing parlor and get it done, they use hollow needles instead of the piercing gun. The advantage to using a needle versus a gun is that with the needle it cuts a hole out of your cartilage, making room for your new jewelry. A gun, on the other hand, pushes the cartilage out of the way, often creating a nob looking thing on the back of the ear where your earing back will go. It is a rare occurance that this does not happen, and the women at Merle Norman (or any mall store for that matter) are in no way qualified to make any modification to your body.

Never been there, but if you want to go....here are some things to check on and ask them about:

What do the use to do piercings? If its a gun...walk away. Only straight hollow needles with beveled sharp tips should be used for piercings. And yes, jewelry will be inserted when the piercing is done. If they are a professional shop they should have CBRs or curved barbells that they use. Usually before the piercing is done you and the piercer will discuss jewelry types and options.

Is everything in the place clean? Does it smell clean and look well taken care of? Are all the tools sterilized and individually packaged? Do they have an autoclave they use and ask if you can see it. Good professional piercers will always have one that they use to sterilize and clean all jewelry and tools.
If at any point you have a doubt about cleanliness, express your concern or leave.

Does the piercer answer all of your questions a-z? Did they explain the procedure to you and talk about after care? They should and definitely ask all questions you might have. You will also want to ask them about the costs of their piercings since that can change and no one here will know for sure.

Just be sure that regardless of where you go, you get the most professional, safe and intelligent piercer you can find. Never sacrifice those things to save money or just to get a piercing done and over with.

They use a piercing gun there, staggering? Then it is not going to truly have a gauge to the jewellery in spite of the undeniable fact that it is around a 20g. in spite of the undeniable fact that, you rather shouldn't get your cartilage pierced by way of a piercing gun. they are notably undesirable to your cartilage. weapons are not sterile, they reason tissue harm, the jewellery isn't ideal for unhealed piercings, and the bluntness reasons so plenty extra trauma to the piercing than a hollow needle may be. i comprehend it is your aunt yet you rather ought to pass to an unquestionably expert piercer.

I got mine done at Claires....they did it i with a stud, but once I was able to change it, I put a loop in. It is more comfortable to sleep in and such.
They pierce it with a gun that has the sterile stud earring in it. You usually pay for the piercing and the jewlery comes with it.
