How do you get the meat out of a coconut (if it has only been halved)?

I want to make hollowed out coconut halves to use in a similar manner to that in Monty Python's holy Grail

I find a butter knife works best to pry the coconut out. It gets under the meat and pops it out (without slicing off fingers!). It's messy though so be prepared for flying coconut pieces, but that's half the fun! I've never seen the Holy Grail, but I'll give you another fun coconut idea.
Coconut cup
Cut the top 2-3 inches off the top of the coconut. Scoop the coconut out of both pieces. Using a glue gun, glue the two pieces together, rounded end to rounded end. That way you have a cup to pour liquid in and a stable base to be able to set it down. I use mine as a pencil holder in my office. Great fun for a beach themed party, especially kids 8 and up! Have fun!

If you leave it in the sun for a while, the flesh will dry out and separate more easily from the shell. Use a blunt knife.

Spoon! Or if its hot out (which i doubt) then you can put it outside and dry it.
