You have a heck of a lot of reading to do.

High cholesterol and hypertension (high blood pressure) can lead to atherosclerotic disease. This can cause abnormalities inside blood vessels that rupture and form clots. When this happens, most or all of the blood flow downstream from that point is blocked off. In the heart, this causes a heart attack. In the brain, this causes a stroke. Neither the brain nor the heart can survive very long without the right amount of blood flow to them.
