everything is included with the price of your tickets except for alcoholic drinks and sodas.you will also have to tip(usually $10 a day per person)but that will come at the end of your cruise...they do give you a sail and sign card that you can put money on in the begining or as i said you will pay for at the end.this is the norm for most cruise ships..when you board and get ready to leave port, you will have waiters bring you (alcoholic)drinks...do not think they are free....they are not...as with sodas you willbe asked for your sail and sign card so it can be charged.all of your food is free except the dinner club (if the fantasy has one) and you will have to make reservations for that if yo want...you dont have to. a couple of good websites you can go to are

the deposit is if you do not have a credit card.....when you get on, you have to set up an account for any purchases, either leaving a credit card imprint or a cash deposit. It will be your id card for ship and also your credit card for any purchases like drinks/shops/shore excursions/photos/any extras not included in cruise fare. Gratuities are different....they are given to your room steward/waiter and busboy. Alcoholic drinks and soft drinks are additional and can be pretty expensive. I hope this helps, if not hopefully you have a travel agent to answer more questions....and the Fantasy is an older ship...but ok since you dont have anything to compare it to. It will be perfect .......I worked on this ship when it first came out in like 1989? Just go and enjoy yourself.

The price of the cruise includes the meals and entertainment, NOT alcoholic drinks or soft drinks. At the meal stations (for Carnival, on the Lido Deck) there is water, tea, coffee and leamonade machines that you get yourself and are always working (i.e. not just during meals). During meals you'll find milk on the buffets (& orange juice for the breakfasts) in the cartons.
As far as the gratuites, that's billed to your Carinval Sign and Sail Card (that you get during registration) and billed to your ship account at $10/day (ie. 7 Day Cruise - $70). You can either give them a credit card at registration or pay money down to give your account credit. If you use a credit card, the bill is sent at the end of the cruise like you charged everything on the last day of the cruise. If you put money down, you use your Sign and Sail Card like a debit card in which after your deposited amount is spent you have to put more into the account or you can't buy anything else. Everytime you buy something on the ship they swipe your Sign and Sail Card like a normal credit card and it shows if you have an "open" account or a "credit" account (meaning it shows how much credit you still have on the card by what you deposited/spent).
For first time cruisers this can be a real wake up call. Cruises like to sell you drinks at the bars and they are expensive. One way around this is if you drink lots of soda, buy a Soda Card that lets you pay one price (depending on length of cruise depends on price - $24 - $34) and then you get as many soda drinks as you want on the ship. They do NOT have a card for alcholic drinks (for obvious reasons) and they run about $5.50 - $7.50 a drink. They bring them around everywhere you turn but be aware they are NOT free, they WILL ask for your Sign and Sail Card to charge them on.
A little trick for first time cruisers is if you want milk or orange juice later in the evening, at the last meal (the 6:00ish one, not the Midnight Buffet), take the milk in the cartons from the buffet and take them to your room and stick them in the ice bucket or if you need the ice bucket for something else, ask your room steward for a second ice bucket and but them in it.
Another warning for first time cruisers on Carnival: There will be some bottled water and sodas in your cabin - those are NOT complimentary, you will be billed for those if they are drank (the room stewards know what's in each room and checks it every night to see what you drank and then resupplies the ones you drank. Also if you go up to one of the bars and ask for water, they will give you a bottle of water and ask for your Card to charge it on. If you want water, go to the drink station and get it in a glass.

Alcohol drinks (Beer, Cosmopolitan, etc and soda (coca cola, sprite, etc($2)) you have to pay for it. You will find juices , tea, coffee, water (not the one in a bottle) everywhere upstair on the pool area. The drinks that the cruise prepare each day cost around $5.50 to 7.50. If you drink a lot of soda take a six pack to your room and coolest on the ice you will find in the ice machine floor. The food are all inclusive, but they also have some stores in the cruise where you could buy cakes, coffees, etc (this is apart).
