just try asking him. otherwise u might regret it... i asked a guy to dance and now he's my bf- it worked out for me so it might for u! good luck

"totally ignore him. he will ask you the next dance"... if a girl totally ignores me I probably would think that shes not interested at all. Perhaps it would be better in that situation to not completely ignore him, but rather don't give him too much attention, defiantly glance over and stuff, thats a definite sign that u like him if u check him out lol.
But ya know, you could just ask him yourself. Be confident and ask him if he hasn't yet. It's not "customary" I guess but what is these days anyways...

Well, there's nothing you can do other then put aside your shyness and ask him straightforward...otherwise you've got to give him hints about your feelings for him...thought that'll take a while...it might that even do before Valentines and if he's that great, big chance he'll be taken before you go to him!

go to the dance with your friends but first make yourself as cute as possible then totally ignore him. he will ask you the next dance.

you should try writting a joke but dont tell him you really like him just ask him to go as friends and see if it works out from their
