Is being thin and unattractive has a lot to do with having a hard time getting women's attention?

I've given my avatar a rest and you can see for yourself what I look like. I'm not real sure how much apearance has to do with this but I always feel like when there is some greek god type in the room women just don't notice me. I guess you can say I'm a little self conscious about this lately but I had to ask.

I have to agree with ihatephillcollins and Ms Dragonfly... It's not about looks....

I heard once that "Men fall in love at first sight, women fall in love at first touch."

Confidence- Get to know yourself, AND like yourself- that will help with confidence. If you don't like you, nobody else will, either!

Settle for being "just friends," at least for a while- Sounds like you may need to get a little more comfortable around women. Even though we're "the opposite sex," we're not that much different from you guys- we like to feel important, appealing, appreciated. We still put our pants on one leg at a time...

Observe women when they interact with each other and other men. If you're smart, you can learn a lot about what makes a woman tick just by watching her... just don't go stalker on her- that will scare her off REALLY QUICK.

You look alright to me - maybe you just need some confidence.

I'd imagine that you're right when saying women probably don't notice you when there is a Greek god in the room, any more than men notice me when there's some stunning goddess in the room. But seriously, how many Greek gods or goddesses are there in the world? Not that many. In a room full of normal average guys, you'd be in with a chance for sure.

Be a bit more realistic - you aren't a Greek god, and neither are most guys. Have a look at the couples you see around you - most of the men in relationships are just average as well.

It all depends on the woman. Some are more into the physical, some are more into guys with money no matter what they look like and some are attracted to confident guys. I have seen some butt ugly guys with some beautifull females.

So my advice to you is go get some new clothes , get a haircut and feel confident you look good and go try your luck. Asking a female out is a game of odds the more you ask the better your odds. Just need to get over the rejection and after so many it wont sting anymroe and you can move on and hopefullly grab yourself a winner.

A little sun will also help, try to get out more and tan a bit. Pale skin makes you look ill.

Well... you're not hideous. Maybe the women who don't notice you are the ones who only care about appearance. There's always a shy, self-conscious one in the corner somewhere - look for her. Oh, and work on your conversation skills. I can't count the times that I was attracted to a guy simply because he engaged me in an interesting, intelligent conversation, or made me lough. Women are not as visual as men, so work on bringing your good inner qualities out. It's like a peacock, spreading its tail. You might not have muscles to flex, but there's more to a man than muscles.

Maybe you're looking at the wrong type of girl. You look like an average looking nice guy-find an average looking nice girl. Usually the Greek gods stick together-I think most of us have felt out of our league at some time.

I'd boil all the good advice here down into three:

I) Get a good haircut and clothes (nice rims too, if you wear them)

2) Become proficient at a physical sport (gym, judo, whatever)

3) Work on self-confidence issues (more time developing self, less time questioning self)

W/e don't listen to those people. Hit the gym, get some self confidence and soon everyone will pick up on it to and start paying attention. Worked for me.
