It's a reference to an old Meryl Streep movie. It had a couple of titles depending on where it was released. "Evil Angels" or "A Cry in the Dark"
"Based on the true story of Lindy Chamberlain: during a camping trip to Ayer's Rock in outback Australia, she claims she witnessed a dingo stealing her baby daughter Azaria from the family tent. Azaria's body is never found. Police note some apparent inconsistencies in her story, and she is charged with murder. The case attracts a lot of attention, turning a simple investigation into a media circus, with the public divided in their opinion."
"Based on the real-life incident that occurred near Ayers Rock, Central Australia, on the night of August 17, 1980, when Lindy Chamberlain cried, "the dingo's got my baby!", after she discovered that her nearly ten-week-old baby, Azaria, had been taken by a dingo from their tent.
"In 1986, Azaria's jacket was found in an area filled with dingo lairs. The case was reopened, and in 1988 the Criminal Appeals Court overturned all convictions against the parents. Two years later, the parents received compensation for wrongful imprisonment."
I never saw the movie, but remember a lot of the uproar at the time. For quite a while, the phrase "the dingo ate your/my baby" was very heavily used. Hope this helps.

It is a little offensive, and it doesn't really men anything. A dingo took a baby girl from a tent in a campsite in Australia. It caused a huge uproar here and an American movie was made about the case. It was the first known instance of a wild dog entering into a campsite with people around and stealing something from a tent. The movie contained the line Ä dingo ate my baby" It gets quoted a fair bit. Its kind of like "I am not an animal" from the movie about the Elephant Man. Tasteless enough to have struck a chord with certain types of people.

In Australia, there was a story some years back about a family, camping in the woods, whose baby disappeared. I believe the mother may have been put on trial for murder, but, in the end, the consensus was that a dingo must have come and dragged it off.
I've seen the Simpson's refer to it on one of their episodes.
Here's the story:
