Suave is not a good shampoo/conditioner combo. You have to use professional brands to get the most out of your hair. Most store brands have waxes in them that weigh hair down... although it may seem nice & smooth and everything. If you can't afford the expensive pro brands, Try TreSemme (u can get it at any store). I've heard good things about it, and that it doesn't have all the wax that most other's do. I would really Suggest Nioxin, which you can get at any beauty supply store. That's a profesisonal brand specifically for thinning hair :)
Anyways goodluck!

It could be that you're using the wrong shampoos.
Drug store shampoos have wax or alcohol in them so that they can be sold at cheaper prices. The wax will weigh it down and the alcohol will dry it out. I'm sure that alot of them are filled with wax to give that shiney look to your hair. That doesn't last too long since the wax just coats your hair and since wax and water don't mix, some of that wax will stay in your hair and you keep using that same shampoo which will add more and more and soon your hair will become limp, lifeless and dull. (make sense??)
Your best bet is to visit a beauty supply store or a salon. I know it's not as cost effective initially, but these products are concentrated so you don't need as much to get a nice lather. You only need about the size of a dime or maybe a bit more for longer or thicker hair. So initially, yes, you'll pay a bit more, but in the long rin, you'll save since it will last so much longer!!
You can aslo see what's on sale as well so you'd be luckin' out AGAIN!
Hope this helps!!

I have the same problem. What I do is put a volumizing mousse in my hair, blow-dry it upside down, straighten it as usual, then spray my hair upside down with a volumizing hair spray. Herbal Essences is good but the volumizing line isn't that great. Pantene has a good volumizing line. Good luck!

My hair is naturally straight, and i'm tellin' ya, it is FLAT, like pancake kinda flat. I used every shampoo and contidioner out there and lemme tell ya, Herbel essence isn't that great for flat hair.
The Shampoo i'm using, and LOVE is called Bed Head. If you have fizzy hair, used "Moisture Maniac"; for flat hair use "Self Aborbed."
I use it and love it!! it's a little pricy though =/ It costs $8 for the shampoo and $11 for the conditioner, but i'm tellin' ya, this stuf WORKS!!!!!!
Me hopes me helped!!! =D

Use volumising mousse and blowdry it before you straighten.

Then after straightening, tease the roots.
