If you scrunch it once in a while it's ok, but do it too much and you'll damage your hair. There are a lot of volumizer out there and if you apply some, blow dry your hair upside down, and finsh it off (still upside down) cooling your hair with your cool option on the blow dryer you will get a lot of volume without the damage of scrunching (also known as teasing).

Yea-scrunch it! For thin hair wash your hair upside down in cool water, than use a curl constructing mousse for extra hold. Try garnier fructis curl construct, it works great! I wouldn't blow dry it though-scrunched hair looses it's wave and gets frizzy if you dry it like that, let it dry naturally, it's look the best when it's a little damp anyways!

I have blonde, thin hair as well and have scrunched it. It really adds volume. I say go for it! Nice that you have a friend that will do that for you :_

Yea, I think so. I have thin hair, and I've scrunched before and it looked really good. It helps volumize and creates an overall thicker look.

It's not bad for your hair, but if your hair is super straight or doesn't hold a curl well, it might just fall out.

Why don't you crimp it instead? You can put some styling lotion or gel in your hair, then just crimp some random sections. It'll be hot. :)
