She is bored and looking for attention, and she knows the when she rings the bell, she gets a reaction. It doesn't matter whether the reaction is positive or negative.
She needs to be distracted, as well as entertained. Get her toys to play with. I know you can't pay attention to her every second, but if she has fun stuff to do, then she won't be quite so pesky.
Get her a King Kong and some kong stuffing. That will keep her busy. You can get her a ball that rolls around all goofy for her to chase, maybe a few tug toys that you can play with together.
Be creative. If you distract her, then she will begin to use the bell for her business, not for her entertainment.
Making her stay out in the cold isn't going to do a damned thing. Labs are double coated, waterproof dogs, and they can stay outside for extended periods in some pretty cold weather. They were bred for retrieving waterfowl from lakes and swamps in the late fall.
Besides, if she wants in bad enough, she's going to stand at the door and bark like an idiot until somebody opens the door.
Good luck.

This problem has to do with who is dominate in the house hold. If u take the dog out whenever it wants to then you are not the dominate one and eventually the dog will run ur life lol. I found out the hard way. my dog did the same thing and we had bells too. u just gota lay down the law, remove the dog from the door unless u know its been a while and it really does have to go out, put her in a down position and role her to the side and make the dog stay there. its all about repatioin. good luck

Oh yes the bell.... Usually, instead of just using it for when they go out, the dog will run over and ring it ANY time they want attention.. Maybe the dog needs something to occupy it, or try taking it on very long walks/runs to make it a little less active during the day

Does she have to go to the bathroom everytime? If so you might want to give her less water a day. The more water she drinks the more she will have to go out. Other then that she might just like the bell thing. By the way thats a very good idea. Your dog must be very smart to ring the bell everytime.

As the first responder said, put in a doggy door where she can go out when she wants to. She is bored staying inside all the time and wants to be out where she can run and play. Some dogs are just not made to stay inside all the time.

Put her on a potty schedule. Take her outside in the morning, mid-morning, noon, afternoon, supper-time and before bed. When she goes to the door any other time, tell her "no go lay down." after a while she will get the idea.
Good luck

put her on a schedule and respond to the bell only when it's time, after a while she'll understand. maybe you should try to interest her in something else it sounds like she may be bored and is looking for your attention.

Leave her outside.Don't let her in the house. If it's cold outside, she will soon learn not to go back and forth and will stay either in or out.You are letting the dog rule you.Oh,how simple, problem solved.
