Alright, the story goes simply like this.
This girl had became my friend last spring due to a school trip, we formed a r/s over that time and when i came back to school, i realized i had a crush on her. I'm pretty obvious and she wanted to go to prom with me. I asked her with the idea we'd be going out after i asked her, yet nothing. Now that shes gotten a prom date, she only really talks to me when i iniate and she has really not given me the same attention as before. Some of her friends tell me to keep pushing and that shes being stubborn but i dunno. The whole thing doesn't add up. I like her , i ask her for a date she backs out using a excuse. Do i have to ask her stright out if she likes me ? and if its a no than cancel our prom date cause i only wanted to go to prom with her under the pretence she be my gf. Any ideas of what shes thinking, does she like me, and what i should do about it either way thanks guys

Well CLEARLY the girl is despicable. Imagine! Finding you of all people to be someone she feels comfortable enough to spend an evening of fun with among her friends. Pfff! The nerve.

Sarcasm aside, I think you need to lighten up and enjoy a time honoured teenage tradition called "prom". Instead of thinking of it as a problem, perhaps you should think of it as an opportunity. Show her what she's missed by not going on a date with you sooner. Pull out all the moves: find out from a friend what her dress colour is and her favourite colour in general so you can choose the right flowers. Be the life of the party, be comfortable with her friends so she feels more comfortable, show manners at all times (holding a door open, getting a drink for her). Tell her off the bat how great she looks but don't go on about it. This is about showmanship here and leaving her wondering, why didn't I see this in him before? Only if you're getting the love vibe from her should you go in for a kiss - if in doubt, leave her wanting more. Word about a kiss - you need to get this right (no pressure). It's a make or break moment. There's nothing worse than I guy who doesn't have a clue and it's mouth open all the time, tongue darting around aimlessly....BLAH! It should be soft, sweet, thoughtful. Whatever you do, have a good time at prom.

Some people get freaked out when they first start a romantic relationship after being friends. All of a sudden they act like they do not know what to do around you. Maybe this is the case with your girl.

I think it is safe to say to her, "when I asked you to prom, I was asking you romantically, not just as a friend. You knew that, right?" Tell her you would like to spend more time with her before the prom. See where you go from there. Good Luck!

She thinks she has you by the balls dude. She's gonna traet ya bad now because she thinks you are hers no matter what she does. Girls get big heads when they think a guy can be controlled easily but stii use her to go to the prom with anyway. Have fun just don't allow your self to get more attached to her because she will only treat you worse over time.

I know that when I was in school I liked guys for a week or two, and then I was done with them. I was a *****. She might of just realized she doesn't like you more than a friend. Although for your sake I hope thats not the reason.

My advice: Dump her. She is obviously just using you for the prom ticket. End of story. Find another girl to take to prom and make her jealous, thats the best thing you could possibly do.

Well, why not just ask her straight out and if the answer's no then give up on her...as least she'll know how you feel about her after you completely expose yourself of the truth...
