~Oh, stroke me, massage my ego, tell me I'm worthwhile.
If you need some stranger in cyberspace like me to motivate you, throw in the towel. Life is gonna beat you to a bloody pulp and stomp you dry. You know the problem. You know the solution. Don't come to me looking for sympathy because you're to lazy to deal with it.

Okay, you need to get off of the computer and study right now young lady, or you will not be able to pass your bio class. You do not want to flunk out of high school. (was that enough of a yell for you???)
You will not be able to go to the college of your choice and improve your life so that you don't have to worry about wasting time on the Yahoo Answers forum.
It is a lot tougher to motivate yourself in high school and believe me it only gets more difficult in college. I am working on my Masters right now, and have to force myself to study at times, but I know that it is important and so I don't even work on the computer for none study related things until all my allotted course work is completed for the day.
Possibly you could get yourself to study if you would use the fun stuff on the computer as a treat after you finish a chapter, you can play on the computer for fifteen minutes or so. You just have to be adult about it, and force yourself to get your work done. Good luck, and have a good night. Think positive, this type of thing happens to every student in the world.

You just have to motivate yourself. It is called self discipline. When you get out into the real world, you will have to do the same thing. Find a way to make it more fun. Find a study partner that would help you be more serious about it. You need to set yourself a schedule. You can still do your computer, but set a time limit. One hour of computer time then do your homework or study for two hours and stick with it. Go to the library or to a friends house. Tell your parents/family to help you with your plan. You do not want to really fail at your plan and then be mad at yourself. You can do it. Now get off this computer and devote the rest of the night to studying for your final! Prayers are with you.

Yes, easy. Breathe and take a deep breath, and breathe again.
You are normal.
You are just going through a studying "block".
It happens to the best of us.
You will get over it.
For now, you have to write a "what's bugging me list" - when you get down to what's inside, then you will find what's behind the block.
When you're done with the "what's bugging me list", tear it up and throw it away. It served a purpose to point out what's going on inside. Anytime you feel "blocked" again, make the list and now you know what to do with it.
Your mind is saying you need a little exercise for a break, walk around the room, up and down the stairs, or pushups or something to break up the problem.
Then you can start again. Tomorrow is another day.
GOD Bless America, always.

I'd guess that there is something real going on in your life that is causing you to want escape on your computer ... a boy perhaps?
Whatever is taking you away from studies is like an addiction. The longer it goes on, the harder the pattern is to break. It may feel like you "can't," but you CAN get off your computer.
It takes willpower to transfer attention to scholastic responsibility. Bite the bullet and get back to the books. It may take being very strict with yourself, yet self-discipline is a reward in itself. Summer is coming, and you are only in high school once.

Step 1) If you don't need the computer to study, turn it OFF.
Step 2) Turn off all other distractions- phone, TV...
Step 3) Sit down with all your study materials in front of you, and just study.
It might seem like a boring, tedious pain in the a$$ right now, but where do you want to be tomorrow?
Pissed at yourself because you could have passed the test, piece of cake, if you just sat down and studied, OR happy that you studied and SMOKED that test?
Because guess what, tomorrow, and the test, are coming whether you're ready or not!

i hate studying. personally, it makes my grades worse, but i'm a bad example.
just make studying easy. find out whats on the test. memorize it word for word, and find the thing u memorize. if you're good enough, you really don't even have to read the questions, just look for the answers. it works very well for history especially.
remember the goal of this method is not to learn, it is to print something on your brain for 24 hours. you have to maximize storage and minimize work. don't even look at things that won't be on the exam.
if there is something that you think can help you solve several other answers through some logical process, it may we worth studying, but only if it will save time in the process. if you would rather just memorize the words than the reasoning, do it.
the best way to remember things is not to read them. if you read you will forget. scientific text means nothing. english text, however has the ideas and jungian archetypes woven into it so that when you read you will make connections and remember things, allowing you to expand. but in scientific text you cannot draw from it by experience. just because you have cells doesn't meant you understand them. for physics/chemistry/math you have to practice problems. for more memorization/deduction things like biology and music, you should repeated write something. if you have notes, read them, then type them up, then read them. if you make a mistake, backspace all the way and retype from there so you don't make it again...its really in your head now. same thing goes for history.

Isn't being a failure motivation enough?
Try turning teh computer off. Get in a quiet room and study. Or try to find a study partner. It would make it more interesting. The computer has so many more interesting things on it than Bio so it's going to attract your attention. SO-I don't think you have a problem other than just being human.

I'll tell you tomorrow.
You should keep in mind that if you study you will do well on the test, and that you won't have to work so hard during the test.
Don't forget not to study too long at a time. It will put you off it. A little here and there gets you there.
Leave it for later.

You got those High School blues baby. Procrastination only gets worse as time goes by. How to motivate yourself. that is a hard one. Are good grades important to you. Do you have to study hard to get them. If you answer yes and wind up getting a bad grade on this final that may be the motivation you search for

I have the exact same problem...but I'm actually overcoming it at the moment...I have so much work to do, I can't afford to procrastinate....I guess you could try to up the pressure....
You could set a time limit. Say "I'll concentrate for 30 minutes or an hour, then take a break..." sometimes that helps me concentrate better.
But for starters, you could try turning off the computer...
Well, you could try to get in the mood to study. Google fun biology facts or something and then transition into actual work
