KATHRYN,
THINGS INSIDE THE MOUTH THAT GET HURT HAVE A FAST HEALING TIME. SURE IT HURTS, BUT YOU CAN NOW USE SOME ORAJEL OVER THE GURNT PART TO HELP WITH THE PAIN. TAKING SOME IBUPROFEN, AVAILABLE AT MOST STORES, WILL DECREASE THE PAIN AND INFLAMMATION.
DON'T WORRY, YOU'LL BE JUST FINE.

Cold water is best, followed by sucking on ice cubes or a frozen fruit-juice bar. I wouldn't suggest anything dairy-related like ice-cream; I think that's about as bad as putting butter on a burn of the hand.

How bad did you burn it? If you just burned it on hot food or liquid, it will be sore for a few days and then it will go away. If it's a really bad burn, you may want to see your doctor or call the doctor's office to ask what you can use to help ease the pain.

I hate when I do that! It makes my tongue feel so funny! It'll heal, just give it a while.
