Need Excel formula to calculate difference in time (Format=day, Min, Sec) between two columns. Data in cells is in the following format - (MM/DD/YYYY HH:MM:SS).

Example:
CELL A1 = 9/24/2006 3:03:43 AM
CELL B1 = 9/21/2006 11:30:20 AM
Formula should calc difference = 2 days, 15 hours, XX Minute, XX Seconds....you get the idea...

Please help need this ASAP. Thanks

FYI - as of 10:11 AM EST, non of the answers are working for me. Anyone else have any ideas?

Format A1, B1 to "mm/dd/yy hh:mm:ss AM/PM"
Format C1 to "mm/dd/yy hh:mm:ss"
Formula in C1 = A1 - B1
Answer will appear as dd/mm/yy hh:mm:ss difference.

you can just subtract it like this
9/24/2006 3:03:43 AM
9/21/2006 11:30:20AM to

0days , 13hours , 33minetes , 13seconds

First you have to go to the Tools menu, select Add-Ins. Check and load the Analysis Tool Pack. After that loads you have the NETWORKDAYS function available. Good Luck.

Oops, that doesn't cound weekend days.

no longer particularly sparkling approximately your question. in case you predicted the effect : "enter cost in b3" and "do no longer enter a value in b3" (logical function) =IF(B6=one million,"enter cost in B3","do no longer enter cost in B3")
