It would really help to know if you are the 11 year old or her mother. I, personally, think that she should wait a few more years- there's no need to jump into a relationship. However, if she really wants to, and her mother tries to stop her, it could strain the relationship, even making it so the daughter doesn't approach her mother with more serious problems. The main idea:
Mom- Give your daughter your opinion, but if she really wants to, arrange for supervised visits (ie, over for family dinner or to a movie).
Daughter- You don't have to jump into a relationship- no one will think any less of you, and anyways, it's fun being single! Try to see where your mom's coming from- she's just trying to protect you.

NO, no way no how and NO 11 year old is mature enough to date. Old enough to play games with boys yes! Dating is another thing all together. Allowing an 11 year old to date, is opening them up to situations that their minds are to darn young to comprehend.
They see and hear of people dating, but they do NOT know of all that dating is. I think any adult allowing an 11 year old to date, needs their head examined.

uhm....well...i dont think its bad..
but because of you age..its just that...when you're 11 you dont think dating...you are young babe..and you need to still live your childhood...take advantage of it....dont rush to date and dont rush to grow up because ..once you become older and experience the real dating world...
you're going to wish you were 11 again....
you should enjoy your life with all of your friends and family..
i knw its hard to not think bout dating now a days..because its everywhere...but really...be you..and act like your 11..not like your 16.....
live your life while you are still young....and avoid dating for now...it can hurt you..a lot..

Date, no! Have a friend of the opposite sex, yes! Supervised for both cases, especially if this has to be made an issue!

heck no, they should date until they atleast have their voice change for crying out loud and understand more emotions than happy sad and angry- this is just setting them up for partner jumping later in life(which will have them being called a slut or dirtbag- if a guy- and then making them unreliable)

If you think it's okay and your parents (especially your parents actually) then yeah...go right ahead...however, might I add that it'll do you no good to date at such a young age because I promise you that as soon as you start dating...your academics will go sliding down and your future will be ruined...but then again, just an advice ^^
