Wouldn't giving money to the Vatican advance a cause they don't agree with? (Same for stem cells, birth control, etc.)

angelpurp -- No, read it closer.

Stayathomem0m -- We're talking about a pretty small margin of error. For what it's worth, a Nexus search reveals a May 2004 CBS Poll that says 71% of Catholics support Roe v. Wade.

Because religion isn't a popularity contest, or a political party. The Catholic Church does a lot of good - ministering to the poor and downtrodden in places nobody else goes, on our own streets and in foreign countries.

Catholics know all this, and volunteer with it frequently. Why would they deny these efforts their needed resources?

I guess Catholic Dogma (i.e. giving to the Vatican) is more powerful than a Catholic's opinion about abortion, stem cell research, etc.
