"DPDT" only describes the contact configuration. DPDT is short for Double Pole Double Throw. You need to know more about the relay coil to determine if coil is polarity sensitive. There would be if it is a DC coil and there is a diode across the coil to prevent reverse EMF when the connection to the coil is broken..

Plain-Jane relay? Do you mean on the coil? Some have snubber diodes across the coil that would make them polarity-sensitive. As far as the contacts, no.
