Get acrylic nails. Yes you can wash them with dishwashing liquid and all that, but if you wash your hands or bathe or do dishes, you are still going to have to repolish once a week unless you get acrylics. No chipping or peeling.

I am a professional nail tech and I know that nails are important to everyones personal style. I also know how expensive it can be to have a manicure done by a professional, so here are some simple tips for an at home manicure that will feel out of this world.
When putting nail polish on the natural nail you need to make sure that your nails are clean and free from dirt. You can do this by performing a simple manicure. The steps are below.
Easy At Home Manicure:
1.A simple way to give your self a manicure with results that don't chip is to first start by filing your nails.
2.Next begin soaking your nails for about 5 minutes in warm soapy water( a perfect time to do a manicure is after doing the dishes).
3.Then push back the cuticles gently. First put some cuticle remover or softener on your cuticles. You can use an orange wood stick or a cuticle pusher. Make sure not to push your cuticles back to far in order to prevent hang nails.
4.Then use a rich hand cream and give each hand a small massage.
5.Next use rubbing alcohol to clean your nails. Make sure to get around the bed of your nails and the cuticles.
Polishing technique:
6.Once the alcohol has evaporated put on a thin even coat of base coat (try Orly BONDER, it leaves a slightly rubbery texture that is perfect for nail polish to adhere to).
7.Once the base coat is dry apply 2 coats of the color of your choice, don't apply thick layers. Two thin layers are adequate enough. Also make sure it dries between coats.
8.Finally apply two coats of clear top coat making sure it dries between coats.
9.When done polishing you can use products sold at drug stores that come in an aerosol can that dry nail polish faster. Just follow the directions and be sure not to use it in between coats(1,2,3 Dry is a good product I have used as a professional nail tech in the past).
Your nails and hands will look and feel beautiful after wards. Keeping the shine for more than just a day or two you may want to apply another layer of top coat every other day. Your nails should stay chip free for about 7-10 days.

It shouldn't just peel off, you're probably helping it a bit and this might be a nervous thing like chewing your nails. Make sure you wash your hands and nails with soap and water and dry them absolutely thoroughly Then spend a little more on polish (l'oreal or revlon are good) and then also purchase a good top coat. After you do your nails and let them dry, put on a top coat (it is clear so won't affect you chosen colour) and make sure you not only do the tops of your nails, but bring the brush around and do the inside of the nails as well. This should help - let me know!

Definitely apply a base coat, then your polish, then a top coat of clear polish. If you wait and make sure each coat dries completely you should have no problem with peeling polish. Also, invest in the higher quality - brand name polish...spending a dollar or more per polish will save you the hassle or re-doing your nails every other second.
