I'm not really looking to be his best friend ever or to be his girlfriend, but I want to get to know him.
I like him a lot. His name is Matt. He's funny, cool, outgoing, nice, down-to-earth, self-confindent... I could go on forever!!
I kind of stalk him-I know his locker number, address, and phone number. I've looked that up in the phone book and seen his locker.
Yesterday I said about 3 words to him, and today I said about 7. He always asks me for gum too, and I don't want him to start using me.
I am a shy girl, I don't have so many friends and he is pretty popular and has a lot of friends.

Looks like you really like him, not just like him, and even though you SAY that you wouldn't want to be his gf...I know you definitely wouldn't mind. First of all, I know this is hard, but stop stalking him. Nobody likes to be stalked. Secondly, this could be even harder, grow some gut and try to start a conversation with him. After all he does ask you for gum so it's not like he never ever talks to you. Another way you could get closer to him is if you start hanging out with one of his friends. That way he might notice you a little more if you're with his friends a lot. Good luck.

these are signs that I show, they are NOT fool proof:
I can't touch her, unless I see her in need of help, IE she slipped on the ice, or dropped her books, even then I feel weak at my knees and it visibly shows
I can't find words when it comes time that I try to talk with her.
I trip over my own words when I do speak
I can only keep eye contact when I look at her first, otherwise I get embarrased and can't keep looking at her without losing control of my emotions, I become extremely nervous, and usually screw up badly.
Personally, I wish the girl That i am after would look my way, I don't think she can even see me sometimes, I don't know If we guys do it to you too, but Its a painful feeling to realize a one-sided-love. Thats North Western Oklahoma for you I guess...
If he shows any signs from above, then it is almost definate. if not, he may either be succeeding in acting like a "cool breeze" or actually ignoring you, don't worry though, be outfront with him, ask him if he WANTS some gum, start actual conversations, keep verbal contact to a high, its almost time for Prom dates to be asked out, its bound to make him more willing to get to know you.

Honey, just talk to him. Just be yourself. Guys dont think of every girl as a potential "mate", they can have friends who are girls, too, so just have casual conversations with him, like when he asks you for gum is a perfect time to strike up a conversation, you might find that you have a lot in common.
life's too short to be shy, whats the worst that can happen? Be confident, talk to him!

Haha I know the feeling. I think you should find out what you guys have in common and just start a conversation. Like for instance, if he's wearing an AFI shirt or whatever, be like, "Hey, I love AFI." But you get my point.
BTW, so what is this for, I don't get it? If you don't want to be anything with him...lol.

dont stalk him. that's creepy. if you're friends with any of his other friends then see if they'll point him in your direction. or just try talking to him more. giving him gum can result in him using you, so be careful. but if he only likes you for your gum then he can suck a big one! haha, see ya.

You say that you don't want to be his girlfriend or anything but the problem is that it sounds like you are in love with him. You talk as if you already know all their is to know about him. But if you want to get to know him better then you will have to be his friend. That is the only way to get to know him. His friends will tell you things but they won't tell you how he is feeling only he can tell you that. Their are most things that his or your friends won't be able to tell you about him. You will have to be his friend to get to know him better. But i think that you are already in love with him. Good Luck!!
