To be honest with you, I don't find many similarities.
Kandinsky is a great, very great artist who started his career by painting (figurative) icons, then he "forgot" perspective and evoluted slowly to abstract painting. But there was a PURPOSE behind every spot, line and form that he drew. Up to the point that he built himself a CODE of lines and colours.
Sonia D. lived in a later period, and honestly I think she confused painting with geometry.
