non-stop is approx 5-6 hours, but count on losing a whole 8-10 hours of your day with an early arrival for security checks, on/off, luggage and all the delays. Flying in & out of SF is tricky this time of year - Northern California winters are all rain, rain, rain - I have 10+ years dealing with that airport and their winter weather. Have never been diverted to another airport, but have had to circle it for a long time. Be prepared for that part of it. Have a good trip!!

If you consider connection, then the flight time will be ~10hour or more.

P/S: If you plan to travel this season(Winter or Spring), be prepare for flight delay. Try to get the early morning flight, which most of them still on schedule.

Well, it's 5 hours (non stop) from Los Angeles to Indiana.
Too long if you're over 6' and flying cattle/cargo class.
