I got a new 50 inch plasma.

I was wondering how I could get HD television without having to subscribe to digital cable or satellite television?

I currently have expanded cable which is good for me.

If your television already has a built-in HD tuner, then all you will need to get local HD channels is just to add an HD antenna for a good signal. Otherwise, you can get either a Blu-Ray or HD DVD player which also can be realized by the new XBox360 and PS3...

Use an antena, you could watch most of the local channels in HD. With an HD TV, you will notice that you can acces channels with decimals, they are for the HD broadcasting. If Fox is on 26, and if it has HD, it should be on 26.1. Some channels also provide a 24 hour doppler.

Most likely your plasma doesn't have a built-in HD tuner, so you will need to get an external HD receiver for local over-the-air HD channels. But before you do that, go to titantv.com, register for free and find out what local HD channels are available in your area.

Make sure your TV has a built-in tuner & your local channels broadcast in HD. If yes to both then buy an indoor or outdoor HD-antenna. Hook it up to your TV and that's it.
