I heard 60,000 on t.v. Many new denominations are being formed each year. The problem is lack of a central authority, people interpret scripture then start their own faith. The CAtholic church unlike all the thousands of protestant denominations is consistant in teaching worldwide for thousands of years.

there is only ONE Christianity; those who believe that Jesus Christ is God, that He came to earth to die for the sins of mankind, that He arose from the dead and that He will soon come again to take His believers unto Himself......those who truly believe that and follow Jesus are the true Church of Jesus Christ.
those who do not have usurped the name "christian" for their own purposes and
do not qualify to use Christ's name.
so, the question should be:
"besides the one true Christian Church, how many pseudo-christian sects, religions, denominations, variations are there?"
