Hello there. My, you have certainly gotten some interesting answers considering you asked a relatively simple question!
The answer is NO. You are no more likely to get pregnant during the week that you do not take the pills then you are at any other time that you are taking the pills. You are protected for the entire month. Some pills come with three weeks of active pills and one week of inactive pills (usually a different color), the inactive pills do not contain anything, they are just to keep you used to taking a pill everyday. You could just as easily not take the other colored pills. Loestrin is usually prescribed in a pack that only contains the 21 active pills, you stop for 7 days and then start again. You are just as protected during that 7 days as you are at any other time during that month.
People who assume that you can get pregnant during that "off" week just do not understand the way in which birth control pills work. During the time that you are taking your pills (the entire month) you will not ovulate. Since ovulation does not take place you cannot get pregnant. When I say "during the time that you are taking the pill" I mean the entire month, not just the 21 days that you actually swallow a pill. These pills work by keeping you from ovulating (at all) and they also make the sperm less able to penetrate the cervix. In addition to this they have the ability to make the lining of the uterus less hospitable to a fertilized egg if there were to somehow be one. So you can see that you are actually protected in three different ways. Loestrin is an excellent form of birth control.
The small number of women who do get pregnant while they are taking the pill do so because they skip a few pills here or there or do something else that negates the effectiveness of the pills. Some antibiotics for instance can reduce the effectiveness of birth control pills as can not taking them at the same time of day.
It is a good idea to use condoms if you are not in a momogamous relationship because while the pill protects you from pregnancy it does not protect you in any way from STD's. To be smart and safe you want to be protected from those also. Do not leave your health care in someone else's hands unless as I said, you are in a strictly monogamous relationship.
Also, my advice is assuming that you have been on the pills for at least one week. If you have been using the pills for less than one week you should be using a back-up form of birth control. You also should have started the pills either on the first day of your period or the first Sunday after you have started your period.
I am not sure where some of the numbers that have been given to you came from but I would like to reassure you about one thing. The odds of getting pregnant from any single act of intercourse are from 0% to 20%. It is not as easy to get pregnant as people would like to make it seem. Also birth control pills are a very good form of birth control. You are being responsible. Just be sure to use condoms if/when they are necessary
Blessings

There is alway a possibility, but the one week that you are off you should be on your period. Remember that everyone cycles differ a little bit but generally the second week into the pill is when you are ovulating and more apt to get pregnant if not on the pill. Again remember everyones cycles may differ slightly, i.e. some cycles are 21 days, some cycle of 28 days. Either way while on the pills or off, I would still have the bf use a condom due to the fact that the pill does not protect you from sexually transmitted diseases such as HIV, so please protect yourself. Best of luck.

well first of all the week without the pill is the week you will get your "period" or "spot" and no you absolutely cannot get pregnant with it. The weeks you are taking the pill NEVER forget as it will make you more susceptable to pregnancy each time, especially if you forget it more than once in a row. If you can make him wear a condom do it otherwise be extra careful...nothing is 100%

If you're taking your pills every day around the same time of day for the 3 weeks you have to take them, then no, you won't have a higher risk of getting pregnant during your week off. Although I'd use a condom anyway... double the chance you won't get pregnant.

The week without the pills should be the week that you are on your period. However it has been known to happen that women have gotten pregnant after having sex while on their period. To be on the safe side your boyfriend should use a condom.
