Are you asking permission?
Of course you can.
It's wise to remove them when applying cream or lotion to your hands. Or when you do yard work or something strenuous where the ring might get damaged.
Did someone tell you you couldn't? That ring is to symbolize love & a relationship. It's not a shackle.

I always take my ring off when I have to get my hands wet or when I sleep. A wet ring just feels weird. If I know I'm going to be getting my hands wet for a long period of time (dishes, pool, etc) I just leave my ring in my jewelry box. If I'm gonna be doing stuff with my hands that makes my ring feel uncomfortable, I have a special little chain that I put it on and wear it around my neck.

Whenever you take your ring off, just make sure to put it in a secure place, and remember that place. My rings (I have my wedding ring and a special "travel" wedding ring) stay in the drawer of my night stand along with my watch. I remove my ring and watch every night when I go to bed. What I do during the day determines if I wear my ring at all. For most household tasks I just leave it off.
The idea of my "travel ring" came up after I nearly lost my wedding ring (which is actually 3 seperate rings we had made into one) during a business trip. We decided that we didn't want to go through that type of emotional crazed looking again. Now I wear a channel set anniversary band when I travel that is still elegant, however, I won't be as upset at losing as my regualr ring.
Wearing your ring is a personal choice. Most days I don't wear mine at all. I just don't think about putting it on. I used to work in the medical field and it was eaiser to put on gloves when I didn't wear my rings. My dad hasn't worn a wedding band in years. He works with heavy machinery. Several years ago his ring got caught in one of the machines and he nearly lost his finger.

Yes! I never wear my ring in the shower, or when I'm cleaning or doing dishes, or swimming.
Sometime I even take it off if it's bugging me (like if I'm hot and swollen).
There's nothing wrong w/ it just be careful to put it in a safe place (like the box) so you don't lose it!

I always take my rings off when I shower, do dishes, or wash my hands. My ring is a little bit big and I don't want to take it off long enough to be sized-down so I take it off so that it doesn't slip off and get lost.

of course you can. just because you take it off doesn't mean you aren't engaged while showering.
i take my wedding and engagement rings of for the shower and every time I go to sleep or put on lotion. it doesn't mean anything.
it's just a symbol.

Sure, you should take it off whenever you do something where it can be easily lost, like shower, wash dishes, swim in a pool and especially if you go to the beach. The other places you have achance of getting it back, if you loose it at the beach its gone.

I take mine off to shower, do my hair, sleep, do dishes. My Diamond sits quite high and it is difficult to do everything with it.
My tip is to buy a little box and WHEN EVER you take it off put it in that box. That will get you into the habit of not just taking it off and putting it down wherever.

Of course you can. I don't even sleep in my wedding ring/engagement ring. I take them off to do heavy housework, when I sew (they're set in platinum and it gets heavy), when I garden, to shower, and at night.

I take mine off to shower and to sleep. I don't like to sleep in jewelry. I think there is an old wives tale that says it's bad luck to ever take it off, but that's just not realistic.
