my husband and i danced to "i will be here" by steven curtis chapman. it's such a beautiful song that reminded us that we are not alone anymore... that we have someone to share our lives with... and we had just taken the vow to love, honor and cherish one another. through the good and the bad, through thickness and thin, in sickness and in health.
of course, we're both christians so that's why we truly think that the song encompassed the true meaning of what it is to be married.
here's the lyrics:
Tomorrow morning if you wake up
and the sun does not appear
I, I will be here
If in the dark you lose sight of love
Hold my hand and have no fear
'Cause I, I will be here
I will be here when you feel like being quiet
When you need to speak your mind
I will listen, and I will be here
when the laughter turns to crying
Through the winning, losing and trying, we'll be together
'Cause I will be here
Tomorrow morning if you wake up
and the future is unclear
I, I will be here
As sure as the season are made for change
Our lifetimes were made for years
So I, I will be here
I will be here and you can cry on my shoulder
when the mirror tells us we're older
I will hold you, and I will be here
to watch you grow in beauty
and tell you all the things you are to me
I will be here
I will be true to the promise I have made
to you and to the One who gave you to me
always brings tears to my eyes when i hear that song... or try "from the heart" by another level. it's also a beautiful song (RnB).
but really... i suggest it should be a song that they both believe to symbolize their love for one another... whatever it may be.

What do you mean by "couples dance"? Her first dance with her husband, or for all the married couples?
A friend of mine invited all of the married couples onto the dance floor and played "Through the Years" by Kenny Rogers. Then the DJ had people sit back down according to how long they had been married (1 year, five years, ten...). The last couple dancing were the groom's grandparents who had been married 67 years. I thought is was a really sweet way to honor the grandparents and remind everybody that when you get married, you're in it for the long haul.

My husband and danced to "Something about the way you look tonight" by Elton John. It's a great song that is not too commercial, and if your future son-in-law isn't crazy about getting up and dancing in front of a lot of people it's not too long either!!

I Do by Paul Brandt. It's from the late 90's. It wasn't an extremely popular song but it is beautiful.

Well I truly believe it should be something that her and fiance choose! It is their song forever! We are trying to decide between Areosmith I don't want to miss a thing and Rascal Flatts Broken Road.
