The first little war related to religion was when Cane killed Abel because his offering was not acceptable to God; while the offering of his brother was accepted.

Every war and all human strife relates back to religion in some respect. After all the devil is very religious and presents himself as an angel of light. Very religious.

Adolph Hitler commonly ended his speeches (sermons) with the word Amen. The SS and Gestapo dealt in the occult and the standards carried by the army displayed occult signs. If you were to ever listen to old recordings you will find that the German army sang hymns, not Christian but very very religious.

I think many people still see a connection between religion and
human conflict because they have a realistic view of history.

It is impossible to fight any war and not have religion involved. You can find many reasons for all the wars that have been fought and among them religion will always be there.

Religion quite often is not the obvious cause of a war. Culture differences are a big reason and religion is the main part of culture. What is different than you is cause for suspision.

Take a good look at Iraq, the conflict in darfor, then go back to the civil war in the USA and it is the difference in the culture of the two regions and again religion is a big part of the culture.

It s impossible to separate religion from any part of world events. One way or another religion will be involved.

Religious people I have never been impressed with. You don't need to be sincere or even authentic to be religious. Just as true Muslims don't murder and wage wars, neither do real Christians. Anyone can claim to be anything, and if I wanted to discredit Christians, I say I was one then do atrocious things. I don't know how people can be so easily fooled by those who simply paste a label on themselves, unless it serves their purpose to believe that these "religious" people are authentic. If just by claiming something I could make it so, I'd call myself Donald Trump, but the real world doesn't work that way, and intelligent people shouldn't be fooled so easily.

The purpose of religion is never to make war.
Many bad things told about religion are from the haters of believers - among billions of believers there must have millions of false ones and their enemies. In reality, humanity would have remained primitive if there were no successive Messengers of the One True God to educate them.

They want you to think that if you vote democrat then there will be no more wars. Therefore they blame wars on something associated with the "right." That something in this case is religion. Notice that they never mention "Kosovo" as a religious war. That is because it was instigated by a democrat who was doing Europe's bidding. We had no right to intervene.

Most of them making those accusations are here simply to convince you and others to vote democrat. It is really that simple.

Because they want to make an excuse not to like religion. They don't worry about facts, they look for ways to focus their hatred for something that they don't understand, nor want to understand. They don't like religion because it tells them that they are wrong. War seems to be one of their tools for them to justify hating religion. They like to focus on politics too, even though politics are in large part anti religion.

There haven't been many religious wars. Even the crusades were not, though they are called that. Even Jihad, its not religious, it is criminal.

Excellent point! Most people, especially those who pride themselves on being "nonreligious" don't really have a clue about what they believe. They don't research or reason through their claims; they simply believe what others tell them.
