Probably not, contra-indications change in extreme old age, get advice from a pharmacy.

or go to epocrates.com, and look it up, but a pharmacy would be better.

edit: looked it up,caution in the elderly and should not be used with trazodone.

I have been helping my Patients administer their own Medication for years. I don't approve of many of them. If a person is being Prescribed either medication, I would assume that at 93, it is appropriate for symptoms caused by Dementia.
Both drugs are used for Depression, and not unusual to see them prescribed together. The latter can cause erection. If it is a 93 year old man, then, maybe being upbeat with an erection would be a dream.
I certainly don't recommend sampling your Grandaddys Meds. Those are both heavy duty drugs. Never tweek your brain cells, it's like Russian Roulette. Lick a frog, it's cheaper...

I would not want my mother on these medicines. My mother was on Respiradol and her quality of life changed in a drastic way. She had to have the meds for physchosis but her overall health would have been so much better without it. She was 83.

Good luck to you and yours

I USED TO TAKE LITHIUM AND TRAZADONE(LITHIUM FOR MY BIPOLAR) AND TRAZADONE FOR INSOMNIA... PUT THE 2 TOGTHER AND AFTER 15 MINUTES I COUD BARELY MAKE IT TO MY BED...EITHER ONE BY THEM SELVES WAS OK BUT TOGETHER...WHAT A PUNCH...I WOULD HATE TO BE 93 AND TAKING THEM BECAUSE ITS HARD ENOUGH AT 35...NEEDLESS TO SAY I QUIT TAKING THEM AND I SAY GET A 2ND OPINION
